basically the only way for the british isles to overcome the empire is to experience the rising tide of bile that is reactionary english nationalism but the problem is that english nationalism is not even strong enough to dispense with "Britain" and so will never achieve anything

@Lavader_ The most advanced culture is the one that is the most advanced technologically regardless of art or philosophy. That’s the hard truth of material reality. Anything else is cope.

Spengler would not see China's revival as the rebirth of a living culture because in his framework, Chinese Culture had completed its arc more than two thousand years ago and had long since hardened into what he called a "fellah" people, which are basically the remnants of a People after the Culture had died off. So modern China is post-historical in his sense. He would read the Communist Project as a Western import. Marxism is a late product of the Faustian (Western) world, so China running on it means an ancient fellah-mass mobilized by a foreign political form rather than expressing anything inherently Chinese. The Cultural Revolution fits neatly here since smashing the Confucian inheritance was just clearing away forms that were already dead in a Chinese context. The economic and military surge he would attribute to Caesarism and the inorganic energy of a "Civilization" phase, so what we see from China is more the brute machinery of mass and power rather than any springtime vitality of a young or emerging culture. So he would regard modern China as a force pretty impressive, but completely sterile as a cultural soul.

@Lavader_ @FraldariusAegis What would Spengler think of modern day China after the cultural revolution?

Shout out to Gamers Nexus for showing the DIY build of a comparable machine (slightly better performance than Steam Machine) $979 vs $1050. Buy an xbox controller on sale for $50 vs $99 for Steam controller... You save about $120.

@rubysapphrald Mutant powers are pretty much random. If there’s the possibility of a mutant appearing with a power to nuke an entire city and they do that before they can control it, I’d be freaked the fuck out too

@followingmybody This part of the book is filled with nonsensical text to represent a labyrinth. You’re supposed to ignore the pointless parts and just read that section with the actual narrative.

Xi genuinely loves football, it's one of the few joys in his life China's pathetic inability to compete in football is his personal Binding Vow. He can't do anything effective about it, lest the Great Rejuvenation is called off. This is how a true Leader acts.

@TheShogunTYO I legit think half of this comes from the weird mismatch between married couple friend groups any sort of language/cultural barrier creates.
