A shameful legacy, and it's happening in plain sight. This picture says it all: UK defence is on its knees. For decades, Westminster has allowed systemic neglect to hollow out our armed forces. The reality is stark. Consecutive governments, both Conservative and Labour, have treated our military as a line item for cuts rather than a priority for national security. Look at the numbers: UK regular personnel are at their lowest levels in decades. The Royal Navy has faced a reduction in escort ships, and the RAF’s combat aircraft numbers are a fraction of what they were. We are decommissioning vital assets like these iconic Harriers faster than we can replace them. This isn't just a policy failure; it's a profound security risk. With the Middle East on a knife-edge and the prospect of a full-scale Iran conflict looming, this weakness is terrifying. Our allies are concerned, and our adversaries are watching. A once-global power is being reduced to a scrapyard. Our armed forces deserve better, and the country deserves to be safe. It’s time to demand real change. #UKDefence #ArmedForces #DefenceCuts #WestminsterFailure #GlobalBritain #MiddleEastConflict #Iran

Mayor's are local government officials - they don't have authority over military operations, deployments or discipline. Restore Britain won't ever be in power either and I doubt Reform UK will allow you military jurisdiction should you ever become London Mayor (however unlikely that may be)

When I travel outside of Ukraine, I get daily intelligence updates online. This morning, I was briefed that U.S. military facilities in the Middle East and the Gulf region were photographed by Russian satellites in the interests of Iran. On March 24th, they imaged the U.S.–UK joint military facility on Diego Garcia located in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. They also captured pictures of Kuwait International Airport and parts of the infrastructure of the Greater Burgan oil field. On March 25th, they took pictures of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Shaybah oil and gas field in Saudi Arabia, İncirlik Air Base in Türkiye, and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were all imaged on March 26th. There are no Ukrainian facilities on this list. But who is helping whom when sanctions are lifted from an aggressor that earns daily revenue and provides intelligence for strikes against American, Middle Eastern, UK, and U.S.–UK bases and so on? When surveillance is carried out over facilities in Ukraine, we always understand that they must be protected, since plans are in motion to destroy them – energy and water infrastructure, military facilities, and so on. Everyone knows that repeated reconnaissance indicates preparations for strikes. How can sanctions be eased if this is what the Russians are doing? There must be pressure on the aggressor. And lifting sanctions is certainly not pressure. It looks strange. Sanctions are being lifted, while the aggressor is providing intelligence to strike facilities, including those of the countries that are discussing or have already lifted sanctions. From my conversation with journalists (3/3).

Marco Rubio calling Zelensky out to be a liar for being truthful. I'm surprised the US is going to such lengths to support Russia in their land grab via the the negotiating table. But that's the evolving world order we live in. Trump seems obsessed and focused on the northern hemisphere being divided between the US, Russia and China.

🇺🇦🇪🇺 Kallas calling it out directly, no sugarcoating anymore "Russia is trying to get those territories they haven't been able to conquer militarily in 12 years around the negotiation table. It's the Russian playbook of negotiations: they are demanding something that has never been theirs. This is a trap we should not fall into." - Kaja Kallas 🇪🇪 That hits HARD because it spells out exactly what’s been happening, failing on the battlefield, then trying to lock in gains through talks And with Ukraine holding the line the way it has, that strategy just looks weaker every time it gets exposed like this

Last night, the Russians launched a massive strike on Odesa. There was no military purpose whatsoever – this was pure terror against ordinary civilian life. Over 60 drones were used in the strike on the city. Sadly, there is extensive damage. Among the sites hit were a maternity hospital, ordinary residential buildings, businesses, as well as the port and critical infrastructure. Our services continue to work on the ground wherever needed, providing assistance. Tragically, as of now, one person has been reported killed. My condolences to their family and loved ones. More than ten people have been wounded, including a child. There were also strikes overnight in the Poltava and Dnipro regions. Each such strike proves that Russia has no intention of ending this war. That is why any easing of pressure on it is dangerous. And coordinated efforts to protect people and lives will help us, help our country’s defense and our diplomacy. I thank all our partners who are working with us and supporting our people. We are working with everyone to give our country more strength and more capacity to protect life in Ukraine every day and every night: our cities and villages, our infrastructure. Collective defense and coordinated action can deliver the most effective results.

This is truly insane, and it should be front page news across America.  Denmark secretly deployed soldiers to Greenland prepared to blow up airport runways to stop a U.S. invasion. They brought blood supplies to treat the wounded. France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden quietly coordinated against us. This was not a drill. This was our closest allies preparing to fight Americans. Let that sink in. NATO allies. Countries whose soldiers have fought and died alongside ours for decades. They looked at this president and decided they had to prepare for the worst. Fewer allies does not make America great. It makes us more isolated, more vulnerable, and it hands Russia and China exactly what they have always wanted: an America abandoned by its friends. The American people deserve to know how badly this president has damaged our standing in the world.  bbc.com/news/articles/…

❌ As long as Ukraine does not supply oil, it will not receive gas from Hungary. We will protect Hungary’s energy security, keeping fuel prices regulated and household gas prices low.

🚨 This is a dark day for Britain. Reform receives a large, perfectly lawful donation from a British Citizen, and Labour responds by rushing through a new law to prohibit him from making such a donation again. Rycroft even refers to British citizens as “malign actors” in his report. This is how fast the machinery of government moves when it wants to protect itself. When it comes to securing our borders? Nothing can be done for years at all apparently. This Starmer regime is authoritarian. Cancelling elections, choking off legal funding for its main rival, surveilling speech. Make no mistake, if Reform do not win the next general election, this country is toast.

The political alignment to developing and growing conflicts are actively swaying voters and their allegiances. Some votes vehemently support Ukraines right to freedom against Russia whilst others are investing their views and support in Trump's war with Iran. Either way, I find it hypocritical to see people virtue signal against one war vs the other, particularly when democracy is plain to see and evident from the beginning.

It largely boils down to the fact that if President Trump hadn't acted like a twat since he took office and showed a little slither of respect with his European allies, then this might've panned out much differently. Trump is right to call out European states over military spending & overall defence obligations. However, on the same side of the coin he has consistently heaped praise to Putin's Russia and continues to thwart and degrade Zelensky simply because he doesn't like him. Your argument fails insofar as the aid to the Iranian theatre from certain countries, has never been there in comparison to the Ukrainian theatre, not even on a "mutual defence" level until recently.

For the record, to every European saying America is doing this for Israel: no. America is doing the dirty work Europeans were too scared to do, opening a strait your economies depend on because your governments couldn’t stomach confronting a radical Islamic regime that’s been holding the world hostage for years. This had to happen before messianic Islamists got nuclear weapons and ICBMs capable of hitting every city on earth. That clock was running. Someone had to stop it. That’s something you clearly don’t understand.

@GBNEWS GB News ought to be a little bit more objective than subjective. It won't look good on GB News in the long run if they become a defacto propaganda puppet on behalf of Trump just because Beverly Turner has been granted a few one way interviews with the white house.
