During an outbreak, what does “contact tracing” mean? A newly released disease agnostic practical guideline, helps to strengthen public health responses during outbreaks by defining essential terms. This guideline kicks in after diagnosis, when the risk of transmission begins. It empowers health workers, governments, and public health officials with the tools to carry out more effective contact tracing.
