many people overlook the potential scientific applications of video gen models. video gen models can be seen as a generative physics engine. however, since video models are learned and not programmed, we can simulate different physical processes without much human labor. with proper scaling of data and compute, i think we will reach a point where video models will not only have an intuitive understanding of physics, but rather they will help us simulate new physical phenomena to better understand the universe.
