We read WHEN THE SCHOOLS SHUT DOWN and learned about the resilience of Yolanda Gladden and other students during the civil rights movement. These 5th graders discussed how much they have learned in the last 5 years of their education. @SullyES_LCPS

These 5th graders wrapped up our unit on codes used during World War II by decoding some secret messages and creating their own ciphers! @SullyES_LCPS

We had SO MUCH FUN learning about animal adaptations today with author @ShumakerDebra! Categorizing the reasons for their adaptations was interesting! @SullyES_LCPS

These 4th graders were inspired by what we learned about giant squid from @candacemfleming! We have some future marine biologists who want to search for more clues about this amazing cephalopod! @SullyES_LCPS

We've been reading FREAKY, FUNKY FISH by @ShumakerDebra and these students created these freaky fish, too! We have learned so much about fish adaptations! @SullyES_LCPS

On this last day of Black History Month, I have to showcase our creation. After learning about the artistic expressions of Alma Thomas, @kehindewileyart , and @floydnorman, students created a @GreenbrierElem themed art piece using their styles. We all LOVE it!

For our last meeting, our book club wrote their own sijo poems like @LindaSuePark about what they would save in a fire and why. The depth of their writing and conversations was awesome! @SullyES_LCPS
