MY MARKET EXPERIENCE There’s this woman I used to buy food items from in the market. Anytime I shopped, it was always in double quantity because I also bought for my neighbour. Since I trusted her, I would just send my list ahead and she’d get everything ready for me. I had been buying from her consistently for over a year. Then came the shocker , this woman had been selling everything to me at almost double the actual price. For example, melon that should cost ₦2,000 per mudu, she was selling it to me for ₦4,000. Meanwhile, I was buying in bulk, thinking I was getting fair prices. She was clearly ripping me off and still calling me “my son” with a smile 😀😀 The day I found out was the day I stopped buying from her. I quietly switched to the next shop close to hers. Till today, she has never asked me why I stopped patronizing her, and honestly, I didn’t feel the need to explain. Was I wrong for handling it that way?
