⛽️Diesel! A fueled-up @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) is building a physical profile to match her premium-grade on-court skill set. In her first varsity season, Emma established Swish program records for an 8th Grader in all official statistical categories — namely, points (61), three-pointers (8), and free-throw percentage (66% (19-29)). The two-time All-Swish point guard played in 17 contests and earned her first career start in the regular season finale at Barnstable. A top-of-the-program Spring would follow where Emma pushed her game and body to new levels in training while emerging as a reliable — and oftentimes explosive — scorer on the regional tournament circuit. She continues to develop as a leader and has embraced her role as a program representative. Emma has been performing strength & conditioning workouts on Monday evenings this Summer with an emphasis on power production. Her format includes violent ball-slams, heavy deadlifts, single-leg squats, overhead pressing, farmer’s carries, and nasty conditioning pieces on the bike. Some newfound biceps have even been on display during recent summer league games! The result has been an even more confident player capable of withstanding physicality and fully expressing her skills. The needle is pointing towards “full” entering her freshman season. 💙🧡💪

An abnormally balanced attack in tonight’s opening scrimmage with Team Sims. Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2027; Falmouth Academy) scored a team-high 12 points in her Swish debut. Audrey Anderson (Class of 2029; @Swich_Athletics) concluded a top-of-the-program-caliber week by scoring 10 points and providing her usual outstanding defensive effort. And @StellaRose2031 (Class of 2031; @MonomoySharks) supplied the requisite outside shooting with 9 points on 3 three-pointers — playing up against mainly upperclassmen. Very pleased with the effort of our players as we have so much depth and options for rosters and lineups. This unit is going to be dangerous as the skills and conditioning levels begin to rise! 💙🧡

Skill development, intelligence quotient (IQ), and extended scrimmaging — all layered against an intense and competitive backdrop. The result was a spectacular first official on-court session for this Spring varsity-level group. And no player more fully embodied the session’s overall spirit than Audrey Anderson (Class of 2029; @Swich_Athletics) with her performance in drills and conditioning and her willingness to push through exhaustion to lead an undermanned unit in contention in the scrimmage. The freshman guard arrived immediately off the lacrosse field and refuse to allow fatigue to be an excuse or negative factor in her play. She will be in the starting lineup for Sunday evening’s scrimmage against Team Sims. The program is fortunate to have “Beans” and so many other wonderful athletes and people this Spring! 💙🧡

Spring 2026 is officially underway as our athletes commenced the strength & conditioning component of their overall development format. An unprecedented amount of depth, competitiveness, and possibility are in the air this Spring as a wide array of players across all grades and ages will be vying for the program’s top spots and accolades. The program competes in its first scrimmage this weekend and it is legitimately unclear at this point exactly who will be starting, playing, and dressing. The atmosphere will force all players to improve and allow the cream to rise to the top. Tonight’s session served as an awesome start to the process! 💙🧡💪

⭐️Four-time All-Swish super-forward Brynn Kew (Class of 2028; @Nausetsports) has been named a Cape Cod Times All-Scholastic! In her sophomore season, Brynn scored a team-high 155 total points and grabbed 105 rebounds — helping her Nauset team experience a sixfold year-over-year increase in its win to total. She was deservingly named a Cape & Islands League All-Star, Honorable Mention, for the second consecutive season while competing in her second consecutive Cape & Islands High School All-Star Game. The 5-foot-10 dual-sport athlete will shift attention to her upcoming softball season where she’ll carry a heavy workload in the pitcher’s circle. 💙🧡

An all-star and record-setting freshman campaign under her belt — @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) emerges from her season with all-state-level ambitions and, importantly, the training format needed to turn those ambitions into a reality. As a freshman, Emma scored a team-high 228 total points, buried 28 three-pointers, and shot 64.1% (66-103) from the free-throw line. The four-time All-Swish point guard and reigning Swish Most Valuable Player reached double-figures on 12 separate occasions — with three 20-plus-point performances — including a record-setting 22-point/5-three-pointer masterpiece on opening night against Martha’s Vineyard. Emma was deservingly named a Cape & Islands League All-Star and Cape Cod Times All-Scholastic while also being selected to compete in the Cape & Islands High School All-Star Game wherein she earned Most Valuable Player distinction. Her patented “Ayer Strikes” — three-pointers from far behind the line — blazed the path for her team’s first state tournament appearance since the 2022-23 season. Emma has returned this Spring to headline our varsity-level group as she embarks on an exciting quest to elevate her game to a point where it’s worthy of state-wide recognition. In order to reach such a level, Emma is committed to improving her traditional skills (shooting, ball-handling, and finishing) another notch while pushing her strength levels and basketball intelligence to even loftier degrees. An Honor Roll student with a 4.27 weighted G.P.A. — Emma (a 5-foot-9 — and still growing — 14-year-old) will undoubtedly warrant exciting recruitment opportunities in the coming years so long as she remains focused on development with appropriate showcasing. She’s certainly off to a great start! 💙🧡

🏆An exciting official conclusion to the 2025-26 season as our previously-considered “backcourt-of-the-future” earned Most Valuable Player Awards in today’s 36th Annual Cape & Islands High School All-Star Game! Reigning Swish Most Valuable Player @EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029; @MonomoySharks) displayed her deep range as part of a 63-55 victory for her “Lower Cape” team. 13-year-old Swish point guard @AvaShaw1119 (Class of 2030; @Swich_Athletics) was a defensive menace for her “Upper Cape” team — she also received the Top Defensive Player Award. Both players were exemplary program representatives in their first career all-star game appearances. And both players will soon assume the responsibility of leading our program into its next phase beginning next week. 💙🧡

📷In-Season Strength & Conditioning, Winter 2025-26 Knock on wood! Congratulations to this Winter’s iteration of our in-season strength & conditioning program on successfully performing the weekly training to help foster another injury-free season. Each Sunday afternoon, this collection of high-school-level players convened in Harwich (and eventually Sandwich) for a detailed, fun, and highly productive 75 minutes of strength training and injury prevention. Our emphasis was on training lateral movement and glute activation, maintaining the upper- and lower-body strength the players built in the off-season, and developing core (including lower back) stability. The players demonstrated maturity by understanding the importance of their weekly sessions and oftentimes scheduled makeup opportunities to prepare their bodies when unavoidable conflicts arose. It was always fun to have the players from different schools together during the season to talk about the various happenings across the local basketball landscape. The players are enjoying some well-deserved time away from the gym to allow their bodies and minds to restore before we reconvene for the next phase of our strength & conditioning journey on Monday, March 23rd. The emphasis will shift away from maintenance and injury prevention and pivot towards pure strength and power development. Stay strong! 🧡💙💪

⭐️13-year-old Swish point guard @AvaShaw1119 (Class of 20230; @Swich_Athletics) has been named a Cape & Islands League All-Star! The 8th Grader scored 124 points and buried the first 5 three-pointers of her career while amassing massive unofficial defensive metrics — steals, blocks, deflections, etc. Ava reached double-figures on four separate occasions and handled primary ball-handling responsibilities as the starting point guard for a 17-3 team that claimed an undefeated Cape & Islands League Championship and qualified for the state tournament. She becomes the first 8th Grader — and youngest player — in the history of our program to earn all-star recognition. A truly unprecedented season and has only displayed a fraction of her fullest capabilities! 💙🧡

📷Upstarts, Winter 2025-26 Congratulations to this Winter’s iteration of our Upstarts group on successfully completing a 13-week block of basketball development!  Each Sunday evening, this collection of 4th, 5th, and 6th Graders convened in Harwich for an exciting and highly productive 75 minutes of training and scrimmaging. Our emphasis was on left-handed ball-handling and establishing the proper footwork for what will eventually become left-handed layups. After competitive shooting, the sessions always concluded with a 25-minute 4-on-4 scrimmage — on an appropriate length court — to allow the players to implement their newfound skills against live defenders. The training block concluded with a full-length End-of-Winter Scrimmage where the players displayed their improvement in front of their parents and families. The event was highlighted by a 22-point explosion by Juju Armaczuk (5th Grade; Barnstable) pacing her “Blue” team to a 49-24 victory over the “Orange” team. This group — along with some key returning 6th Graders from Bourne — will continue its training in the Spring with another 12-week training block where sessions will be held in Osterville on Tuesday evenings. New points of emphasis and competitive opportunities await this exciting group. Thank you to the players and families for supporting the program and we’ll see each other again after a well-deserves three-week break! 🧡💙
