My son’s hockey team did not win a single game before Christmas/January. At the end of January, they got new coaching. Tonight, they play for the district championship.

The best judges, negotiators, and special ops have this down to a near instinctual level. It is the same intelligence that defined Otto Von Bismarck’s ability to engineer German unification. And it shows up everywhere. Every outcome anyone has ever cared about (e.g., career decisions, who to trust, who to marry) often arrives with partial information. How one moves in response reveals much of what quantifiable metrics of intelligence do not.
