Now people post for reach, positioning, outrage, relevance. The incentive is performance. When your digital life stops being a place to relate and starts becoming a place to compete for attention, it changes people. You become more reactive, more comparative, more fragmented. You stop sharing life and start broadcasting identity. That alone can make people feel lonelier, even while being constantly online.
