The idea that you shouldn't accurately describe what's happening because its defeatism is dumb. Everything that made Cuban socialism what it was is being dismantled. We need to accurately describe this rather than lying just because we don't like the vibes.

The problem with "Cuban socialism has fallen" is that it's complete defeatism. The problem with "the Western left has failed my internationalism test because of ideological perfectionism" is that it substitutes analysis of Cuba for an idealist understanding of the Western left.

From what I hear it’s like a pyramid scheme on the ground with the works unfortunately.
