It was a wonderful evening of conversation, laughter and connection at the JHB launch of "What Nelson Mandela Taught Me" last night. Thank you for coming out and sharing your thoughts and memories of an iconic leader who remains as relevant as ever today.

What a fabulous evening, celebrating the launch of @ZeldalaGrangeSA's new book, What Nelson Mandela Taught Me. @Anele did a great interview with Zelda, in which she spoke about @NelsonMandela's humanity, and how he truly saw a person, without all their worldly trappings. It's a great read and available @ExclusiveBooks across South Africa!

A special thank you to my dear friend, @Anele, for the warm, engaging and thought-provoking conversation. Thanks as well to the great team at @NBPublishers for organising the launch tonight. A part of the conversation that stuck with me tonight was about how we can apply Madiba's approach to present-day South Africa.

Lessons learnt from Nelson Mandela about surviving 27 years of incarceration. A thread🧵 A. Get up every morning with a positive #mindset. He woke up every morning determined that the apartheid state and the conditions in prison would not break him.

I can't wait for this! I am a huge admirer of both @NelsonMandela and @ZeldalaGrangeSA. We still have so much to learn from Madiba and Zelda spent 19 years working with him, so is one of the people who knew him best.

We are in the mangroves in the uThukela #MPA with Mary Basson who has dedicated herself to environmental awareness and education efforts. She spent 14 years at Sodwana Bay in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, and in 2015 moved to the uThukela MPA. #MPADay
