@AdamKoffler 20% down avoids PMI but a lot of 1st time buyers can't afford to gather that. It's sound advice if you can manage it, but PMI isn't the end of the world, so 5-10% down can get you in and then you pay extra on principal early on and w/appreciation u can get rid of PMI w/in 5 yrs
