A male youth was stabbed at Sunridge Mall in northeast Calgary yesterday afternoon at around 1. He is in hospital in stable condition. Police have interviewed numerous witnesses, but have not been able to locate a suspect. They say there is no concern for public safety.

CMP say a convicted sex offender has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of a 24-year-old Hinton woman and her 16-month-old toddler. 53 year old Robert Keith Major has also been charged with one count of indignity to human remains.

Mounties in Hinton began investigating the double homicide after a report was filed Thursday evening about the missing woman and her child. The bodies of both were later found in the Hinton area

Two fatal crashes in Alberta this weekend and police believe alcohol was involved in both incidents. This morning just after midnight, Morinville RCMP responded to a 2 vehicle head-on collision at the intersection of Highway 28 and Sturgeon Road.

Police say an adult female, who was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, succumbed to her injuries shortly after the collision.

A child who was passenger in the Jeep was also injured and taken to Hospital via STARS. A man driving a Ford F-150 was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The second fatal crash occurred early yesterday morning near Highway 19 when a Honda Accord struck a sign pole.

Paramedics transported a 21 year old woman to hospital but she died from her injuries a few hours later. The 22-year-old driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. He has been charged with impaired driving causing death.

Alberta Health Services has physically closed the Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary and is preventing access to the building. AHS says the action was necessary because Tim Stephens, the Lead Pastor of the church, has continued to disregard public health measures required by law

AHS says the Closure Order will remain in place until the Pastor can demonstrate the ability to comply with these restrictions. There have been 57 public complaints regarding Fairview Baptist Church.

A 29 year old Calgary man has been charged after the discovery of a woman's body Tuesday evening at the Airport Traveler's Inn. Vladimir SOKI is charged with Second Degree murder in the death of Sharilyn Shelley Ann GAGNON.

Police allege this was a targeted attack and that it was domestic in nature. Soki also faces a charge of aggravated assault charge after another man was taken to hospital with serious, life-altering injuries.

Canmore RCMP are looking for a man after an attempted traffic stop of two vehicles traveling together early yesterday morning on Highway 1. Only one of the vehicles stopped and the subsequent investigation led to the discovery of handguns and controlled substances.

Three people are dead from suspected drug overdoses in Drumheller. RCMP received a call at 7:42 last night and discovered the bodies at a residence. Police have issued a warning to the public.

They suspect that the drugs taken by the deceased were laced with lethal quantities of opioid-related substances such as fentanyl or carfentanil. Police say they are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and no other information is available at this time.

Calgary Police are investigating what they term a suspicious death after the body of a man was found in a restaurant parking lot at 92-23 Macleod Trail S.W. Police were called to the area at around 11:20 last night after receiving reports of a man in medical distress.

Calgary police are investigating a shooting that occurred last night. One person was taken to hospital but their condition is unknown. The shooting occurred around 9 at an Esso service station on 12th avenue and Macleod trail southeast.

Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man in southwest Edmonton. Officers discovered the victim lying on the ground outside of a complex near 180th Street and 74th Avenue at approximately 6:40 yesterday evening. The man died on scene.
