@PamGosalMSP Aye, Pam. I’m sure almost all of us daft proles consider our bosses to be better paid because they work so much harder than the rest of us.

Where’s the incentive to work hard? Hard workers constantly pay the price for SNP incompetence. Increasing the tax burden will deter people from moving to or working in Scotland. Scotland cannot afford to maintain public services without growth👇 thetimes.co.uk/article/3a1c9d…

@AshReganALBA It’s called bigotry, Ash. It was nothing to do with “protecting women and children” otherwise why would you move to a party led by a self confessed sex pest?

“I sacrificed the claimed comforts of Ministerial Office on a matter of principle over the Gender Recognition Bill —like you I cannot and will not compromise on the rights or safety of women and girls. “I’m joining ALBA on principle also: that #Independence cannot be a carrot deployed only to attract voters, during election times. “Independence is a material commitment that I was voted in to Parliament to progress and achieve. My solemn commitment to my constituents in Edinburgh Eastern, and the trust they put in me, can now only be served by the Saltire-blue principle, of the @AlbaParty.” —Ash Regan MSP, ALBA Leader at Holyrood.

“It was a distinct privilege to be elected in 2016 on an independence platform; riding the wave of optimism that the 2014 Independence referendum ignited across Scotland. And it has been an honour to serve the people of Scotland as an MSP and a Minister. Sadly, it has become increasingly clear that the SNP has lost its focus on Independence, the very foundation of its existence. I could not, in good conscience, continue to be part of a party that has drifted from its path and its commitment to achieving Independence as a matter of urgency. “Today, I am proud to take up the mantle of leadership for ALBA at Holyrood and to become the first ALBA Member of the Scottish Parliament. I do this with a clear focus on reinvigorating the cause of Independence and delivering on the promise that was made to the Scottish electorate in 2016 and 2021. I am committed to working tirelessly to create a Scotland that leads, not follows—a Scotland that leads the way in living standards, economic resilience, and innovation.” —Ash Regan MSP, @AlbaParty Leader at Holyrood

Little noticed fact about the SNP. They received just £4,000 in total donations for the most recently reported three month period. Hardly enough to keep a camper van on the road. No wonder it was parked up.

@AlMorrison14 @Paul06559591 @ScotNational The only hope for England to avoid completing their journey into rank fascism, is Scottish Independence. The good folk down there need to be able to look across the border and see that things can be done differently, and they don't need to keep lurching right for solutions.

@G81menace @MoiAliEdinburgh @SaveSCScotland And blocked 😂😂😂 Moi thinks she’s so special that she’s above the rules. I can’t believe these people expect sympathy. Unionists are such hypocrites. If there was (God forbid) an incident and folk died, they’re be screaming it was the SNPs fault for lack of enforcement!

How utterly demeaning for the Scottish Labour leader. But a really good insight for Scottish voters. Do we really want Scottish MPs who, when Downing Street says ‘jump’ ask ‘how high?’ I think Scottish voters want their MPs to have a bit of gumption.

Q for unionists. Glasgow is the biggest City in Scotland. Why don't we just get the people of Glasgow to vote for what council it wants, then the rest of the country just go along with it. I'm sure the Glaswegians will vote for a council that will care deeply about Inverness.

@afneil When something shrinks, it's growth is obviously going to be exaggerated compared to something that didn't shrink in the first place. You're either an idiot, sleekit or more likely both.

Apologies for spoiling the morning for so many on Twitter. BUT: UK economy is now bigger than before the Covid-19 crisis. Indeed UK growth higher than Germany and France, new revisions to official data reveal. GDP 1.8% per cent larger than final months of 2019 (ONS). Britain’s GDP reached its pre-Covid size way back in the final months of 2021. So much for being worst performing economy in the G7, which is actually Germany, whose economy is about the same size as before the pandemic. UK has also outpaced France, post-pandemic. UK growth still nothing to write home about. But that's true of almost every major economy post-pandemic. As I say -- apologies. I know how much this will upset so many of you. But cheer up. The weekend beckons .

@toni_tonirl @guardian We've been lurching right since the nineties to the point where drawing parallels to the Nazi's is no longer a ridiculous argument. If you're right, why is it getting worse?
