it does seem as if a foreign adversary has taken over the US & in plain view is dismantling its programs, institutions, missions & ideals. the most acute observers among younger generations must be looking upon this with dismay, despair, outrage--their US will be tragically diminished compared to the US most of us grew up in. it's hard to believe that much of US science research is being terminated -- the country used to be so proud of its great scientists. not to mention medical research.

The disclosure sequence here is what courts care about.
DOGE gets access to Social Security data. Court blocks it. Supreme Court allows it to resume. Then DOJ admits it gave the court incorrect information during those proceedings. Then discloses: unauthorized server used for the data, and a secret agreement with a political group to analyze voter data tied to overturning election results.
The conduct was happening while the court was deciding whether to allow the conduct. The incorrect information was provided while the court was making that decision.
The Fourth Circuit sent it back down for a fresh look with the newly disclosed facts included. It flagged "even more alarming" developments it didn't detail. The case now goes to discovery - meaning the full scope of the agreement, who the political group was, and what they did with the data, will be subject to legal compulsion.
Social Security numbers. Medical records. Financial records. Millions of Americans. A secret political operation. Courts told something incorrect during the proceedings.
The Fourth Circuit called it alarming. It said so twice.

South Korea's president, addressing Israel: "It’s disappointing that you don’t even once reflect on the criticisms from people around the world who are suffering and struggling due to your relentless anti-human rights and anti-international law actions."
He said this after posting this yesterday (x.com/Jaemyung_Lee/s…), a video of IDF soldiers throwing a young Palestinian off a rooftop and commenting that "there is no difference between this and the Japanese wartime sexual slavery issue we raise, the massacre of Jews, or wartime killings."
Israel's Foreign Ministry responded that his post was "unacceptable" but President Lee obviously - and courageously - chose to double down 👇
Also probably says a lot about where U.S.-South Korea relations are at right now.

That is the verified government account of a federal law enforcement agency with arrest and detention authority over 340 million people. Not a campaign. Not a personal page. A Christian cross on the official DHS handle is a textbook Establishment Clause violation. The first freedom in the First Amendment exists precisely to prevent this.
