If Cardinal Muller really said this, he definitely does not know his own faith. When the Pope makes statements that are not related to the faith, Catholics do no have to agree with him and can respectfully criticize him. The Pope is a human just like anyone else. Just look at the history of the Catholic Church. There have been many bad Popes in the past. Popes in the past have also made bad/incorrect proclamations (not faith related). Pope Leo XIV is no different. P.S. I am a Catholic. The Pope's comments do not change my faith.

The Pope is dividing the faithful with his manipulative, hypocritical, and politically motivated messages. Weakness allowed abuse to thrive and divide the Church. But scripture works both ways: “Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. The Church has no selfish strategic interests in geopolitics. That’s why the Successor of St Peter speaks with the liberty that comes from the Gospel. It is not a political message, but something much more important - what we call parrhesia, or apostolic courage.
