Despite the fact that the hype around him is much lower now than it used to be, I still fully believe in Leão’s talent. There’s no doubt about his ability or what he can bring on the ball. My main concern is his work rate off the ball. In Flick’s system, that’s non-negotiable, regardless of your position you have to press and contribute defensively. And similar to Rashford, that’s one of Leão’s biggest weaknesses. Could Flick improve that? Maybe, but even under Allegri, a coach known for discipline and defensive structure, we didn’t really see progress in that aspect. That’s why as much as i'm tempted by the idea of having both of him and Lamine as our wingers, the work-rate part is what makes me quite skeptical about this option right now.
