The fact that they are literally this, but saying it is a crime because Zack Snyder or something

Channel Dog@ChannelDogYT
Maybe it's too soon to judge, but I think we may need a change in direction for the DCU suits.
English

@bigfinatic @J4character @SpicyDWTakes Characters just having conflict for a few seconds isn't really indicative of a more interesting dynamic. 15 and Ruby have had fleeting moments of conflict. There's a reason this is just a gag, 8 episodes of trying to undo it doesn't sound that interesting.
English

@Why_Of_Who @J4character @SpicyDWTakes I think her demeanor was something they could work with. She seems a lot more uptight and literal in lizard form versus the very loving & loose 15th Doctor. It could have been interesting to see the Doctor try and fix time to get Ruby back, rather than the actual arc of Series 14
English

#DoctorWho Spicy Take #189:
If Ruby had stayed as a lizard she deadass would have been a more interesting character

English

@J4character @SpicyDWTakes But beyond the initial novelty how would this improve Ruby's character? I agree we need more companions who aren't just contemporary Earth Women but it doesn't automatically make them more interesting or compelling. For example, I find Ruby far more interesting than Kamelion.
English

@Why_Of_Who @SpicyDWTakes Would’ve been cool to have a non earthling modern day campaign in new who

@jadexskywalker Worked better as a nebulous concept. That being said, there's plenty of standouts and I do love the War Master. I like it when it's high concept and nonsensical, the generic war stuff doesn't work.
Day of the Doctor also makes the War feel less consequential for the Doctor.

@ChannelDogYT I understood the reasoning of not having a disfigured villain in a wheelchair on Children in Need but I also think part of it was they weren't gonna put him in all those prosthetics just for a couple minutes of a minisode.
English

Out of curiosity, where are we at with this thing?
At the time I thought it was a nice gesture, but I think the show has since been super performative which makes me question the whole thing. I hear some wheelchair users loved playing as Davros as kids in the playground too.
TheMekon_Venus@TheMekon_Venus
RTD changed Davros… to make his look more human and able bodied. But this will forever be the way I see the character. Does anyone else think this is really the only way the fans want to see Davros?
English

@michaelmoslin @jae_writes_ Correct.
Regeneration, Bi-Generation, gimmicks.
English

ngl I will personally go burn down the studio if she gets sucked into these stupid gimmick regens
mia@miadoctorwho
when’s Doctor Who going to bite the bullet and have a doctor regenerate into Jo Martin just to get the fans talking
English

@sevvaldoctorwho @jae_writes_ 100%, I'd never deny that. So is the Meta Crisis and to a lesser extent 14. Being a gimmick doesn't make them inherently bad. It's just what they are.
English

@Why_Of_Who @jae_writes_ then so is the war doctor

@garlicbread9182 You're trying to make this something it isn't and that's really gross. This is no different than Eccleston commenting om his ears, Smith commenting on his chin, Capaldi on his eyebrows. Being skinny is something that relates to TENANT, Eccleston has nothing to do with it.
English

@holdinontostars @13SIMM The Meta Crisis is that regeneration. Ten post that regeneration is still just regular Ten. He even says once he'd healed himself he didn't have to change.

@ArtOfFisticuffs I wouldn't much stock into the RTD era ages of the Doctors. I mean 9 claims to be 900 but also says he's been travelling through Time and Space for 900 years. I don't think the ages are meant to be taken that seriously. EU writers often ignore it anyway, as they should.
English

@RobotHimejoshi Not strictly true. For example Russell believes Ten and Rose went on several adventures between Christmas Invasion and New Earth.
English

@ArtOfFisticuffs RTD in general doesn't seem to like implying too many adventures between episodes, or really the Doctor ageing too much
Compare to 11 and 12; 11 starts at 900, 12 ends at 2000+
English

@TrilbeeReviews I think making the Doctor biologically special and the basis of how Time Lords work is generally a bad/boring idea and I find pre Hartnell Doctor's a bad idea and 50+ years into the show, it was a creatively bankrupt idea.
English

@TharriesYT Tbf I think they used Jodie's when they did a video with 13 a bit back.
English

They reused the Tennant subscribe bit from the 60th at the end of the YouTube upload as well

bbcdw on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook just casually posting this trailer which came out 20 years ago.. #DoctorWho 💙💙
English

@TharriesYT To be fair the only people who will watch this are pretty existing Harry Potter fans and its not like you can spoil it for them. Still odd though, they may be gaging interest.
English

I’m still just kinda baffled at the concept of releasing a making of show for a show that isn’t out till the end of the year
