A few errors! 1) Mercury isn't in retrograde rotation, 2) When I said Venusian; I meant Saturn/Jupiter settlements! These and Mars do not receive enough solar irradiance to have their own farming (You can but I feed my populations food that did photosynthesis from the sun!)

Mercury should be terraformed... A guide(?)! Assumptions: 1) A stream of asteroids where you can reliably find 500km diameters asteroids that is going thru the solar system (Like the ones that happened 4.5BYA, they weren't that big ofc) 2) Or a tech to warp the metric

I'll write a guide to interstellar expansion (Superliminally) if we get....three people to comment! (Massive fanfare, I know, I know~)

You should also do this to Venus, use the same methods you used prior. However, this should be both easier and harder.. - 25D tilt + 24Hr retrograde day (Same methods) - Crack the mantle (Same) - Bioengineer colonies to process the atmosphere into youre preference (Requires...

You'll need this for expanding your populations; Massive amounts of healthy food = Healthy population = More population = More expansion You'll need supply chains for systems further along the Sol System (Martian or Venusian systems are far enough to require organic imports)

Turn it into your bread basket. This is the only reason you'd wanna go through all this troube; Mercury receives orders of magnitude greater Solar Irradiance than anything in the Sol system. Since you're good at bioengineering anyways,

create a series of organisms that can take advantage of the solar irradiance. You may also host solar research facilities, there is much to be unlocked from studying a star! Why food? You need it to feed your populations silly (Even if you subjugate all alien species like I!)

You have a Mercury with 25D tilt, 24hr retrograde day, a EM field to protect against Solar Winds, a few moons to keep your new orbital settings stable and a Overseer organism to keep your 1B atmosphere. Now what? Let's cover what you can do with Mercury...not much, sadly..

ESSENTIAL: - You should be able to control it 100% and don't put advanced neural structures into this thing! Okay, let's recap:

3) Heal the film fast enough, avoid complete reliance on the TARS formation 4) A node should decay so that another sample can spread through its established structure and use its carcass to fuel itself during the process

1) Be able to dissipate heat into plants (Make energy), you don't need this you've probably unlocked fusion but its to prevent overheating of the oceans (They should be at a 30-35DC btw) and the Overseer itself. 2) Distributed design (A node cannot kill the entire Overseer)

If its something like carbon nanotubes (Idk why you're reading this guide, its meant for advanced civs..), you'll need the film to be thicker and interdirectionally laced (Y and X axis) Some smaller requirements you should try to fulfill:

3) Create a planet wide film laced with your chosen material to hold the 1B atmosphere. Ik ik, you think this is ridiculous; But this guide isn't about doing non ridiculous things! If you've chosen DNT, rest assured, its plenty strong.

1) Absorb excess radiation and dump it into the craters oceans (Lil M has big craters, the depths will not get any sunlight i.e energy without this) 2) Be able to manipulate your chosen superstrong material or create it (e.g Diamond nanothreads), it needs this for the next step

Make sure you invest in that in the early game! (Tip: Pack it with anticancer genes and use a non sexual mode of reproduction) So instead of automated systems; You'll engineer yourself a creature that can do a few things. (Lets call it Overseer)

After you've gotten sufficient protection, you can deploy automated systems to create domes to liquefy the water. This is not scalable; Lil M cannot hold a 1bar atmosphere. However, this is probably the hardest part, so you'll need very advanced bioengineering.

These will continue to gain rotational energy, so we're not using pure TARS (Those are meant to break off in the middle), but a moded version that stops gaining rotational energy after a certain limit. Now to liquefy the water:
