oh absolutely not personally, I might’ve never realized what I wanted to see improved in these games if I didn’t play other things you can know a lot about Sonic games, but you can’t really build a nuanced opinion about them if your scope is that limited

"Play more games" argument kinda dumb for Sonic imo. There's a lot of fans in this community who CLOSELY analyze every minute detail to a Sonic game. They're just as valid in knowing what makes a Sonic game good or bad.

Also, I think it's obvious that we're getting a new model, if not a new art style, now for the next mainline Sonic game. Like, why do this otherwise? It looks like Kishimoto really got to Sonic team. Well... here's to the new era.

Bloomberg is reporting Nintendo is cutting production of the Switch 2 by 30% because of weak US sales. But as many have said on my previous post, some have doubts about the validity of the story based on their track record on Nintendo. Idk how feasible this is but I kind of want to see a full Sonic/Pac-Man/Megaman crossover game. A proper Mario crossover isn’t happening, and tbh i’d rather see these three JP mascot platforming underdogs band together instead lmao.

I hope Sonic gets a paired collab with Megaman like he did with Pac-man. Both are in Crossworlds, but Pac-man got a whole Sonic stage in World 2 Repac. Maybe Megaman Dual Override can have a Sonic collab stage? That would be really cool imo.

@AllCristina2 Whether it’s Classic or Modern idk but I doubt it’ll be “Superstars” because that name was chosen because of the Nintendo-like multiplayer focus, and I don’t see them doing that again since it inadvertently handicapped the wider game.

@AllCristina2 I don’t see why they’d make DLC for Superstars of all games, especially four years after release. Also while I do think we’re due for another 2D game, I don’t think it’ll be “Superstars 2.”

(and yes I know about the concepts and beta stuff for RoL, but honestly it just didn’t seem all that… good? Like it seemed fine, but not really Sonic. It was another multiplayer platform adventure game, idk why people hype it up like 06’s concepts.)

I also don’t think you can even argue potential man or soul for Boom like you could for 06. Did people memory hole the initial reaction to the teaser? RoL being a technical disaster was the final nail in the coffin, not the first or even second.

My hot take is that the 2000s objectively is Thee Sonic era since it had the most actual game releases and media, and also was a proper evolution of the 90s direction and style.

Part of why I love Shadow Generations so much is because for the most part is actually feels like what I was expecting the series to do right after Gens. I didn’t understand for years why we didn’t get essentially ShGens as a DLC campaign for Gens in 2012.
