Looks to have more room in his mark and should take the beating here. Arc Ole Ole (4:40 Doncaster) - won on previous start and looks open to further progression, Cunha has been fairly bullish on this lad too. Strong chance.

🥇Kings Trail wins at Kempton under hands and heels! Unfortunate not to land the double with Ellusive Butterfly beaten a neck in the closing strides.

Meydan Selections 🇦🇪🐎 Al Riffa - 5/4 (1.5 Point Win) Salloom - 3/1 (1 Point Win) 0.5 Point Win Double (8/1) Al Riffa (12:55 Meydan) - the classiest horse in the field by a distance, winning the Irish St Leger comfortably. Far from disgraced when running well in the Melbourne Cup (given to much to do). Looks set to win here today. Salloom (1:30 Meydan) - a quirky horse and has refused to race previously. Was backed heavily to win that race and it suggests that he’s highly thought of. Needs to behave today but if doing so takes the beating.

Saturday Selections 🐎 Ellusive Butterfly - 11/2 (2 Point Win) Kings Trail - 4/5 (2 Point Win) 1 Point Win Double (10.7/1) Greek Order - 18/1 (0.75 Points EW) Greek Order (3:32 Doncaster) - runs well when fresh and his mark is now appealing - with runs later last season helping that cause. Yard are in phenomenal form with an 83% SR. This will have been the plan for some time and has an each way chance with six places on offer. Ellusive Butterfly (3:52 Kempton) - ran nicely on seasonal reappearance despite shaping like she needed the run. Previously pitched into listed company and has the fitness edge on these opponents. Strong chance. Kings Trail (4:28 Kempton) - looks to be very smart and the yard won this previously with Notable Speech. Should progress from his debut and if doing so takes all the beating here.

🥇Gilded Prize wins impressively at Chantilly to land the first leg of the double!

Thursday Selections 🐎 Gilded Prize - 11/8 (2 Point Win) Start Me Up - 2/1 (1 Point Win) 0.5 Point Win Double (5.87/1) Gilded Prize (1:30 Chantilly) - debut run was incredibly impressive, travelling powerfully before drawing clear of rivals. Colin Keane takes the ride today, with this potentially a starting point for runs in classics later this season. Start Me Up (4:37 Southwell) - ran credibly in Meydan over the winter - perhaps disappointing slightly, especially when finishing 7th when sent off 7/2f in last start. Remains unexposed however and looks to take the beating in this field.

We have very sadly lost the battle to overcome Sir Gino’s ailment and he has had to be put to sleep at the veterinary hospital this morning. He has been fighting from severe deep-seated infections that he had overcome last year prior to his brilliant return in the Christmas Hurdle but this time it had spread too far although his fractured pelvis was healing well. He was not only brilliant but one of the nicest kindest horses you could ever wish to see and this leaves an awful hole in Seven Barrows this morning and a very sad day for Joe & Marie Donnelly. They have had some wonderful horses over the years and they both care so much for them so losing such a young star with his life in front of him is particularly cruel. Sir Gino was unbeaten in all his 7 starts including 3 Grade 1’s over hurdles and an amazing display in a Grade 2 Chase on his one and only start over fences. We would have to say that he was just at least as good as any of all the amazing horses we have been lucky enough to have trained. Unforgettable in every way.

Tuesday Selections 🐎 Royal Standard - 4/5 (1 Point Win) Time To Take Off - 5/6 (1.5 Point Win) 0.5 Point Win Double (2.3/1) Royal Standard (6:00 Wolverhampton) - form from last start is strong, finishing within 4l of Spyce, who finished fourth in the Zetland and holds a Derby entry. Found traffic on that occasion, stepping up in trip looks a positive also. Yard flying with a 38% SR, strong chance. Time To Take Off (8:00 Wolverhampton) - travelled ominously on debut before picking up smartly. Has a layoff to content with here but carries 3lb less than rivals. Should take the beating.
