Every day passes, every month goes by, and sometimes it feels like I have nothing to show for it. I put in effort, I try different things, but it feels like nothing is moving. Like I am stuck in the same place while everything else is moving forward. Some days, I even start to question myself. I wonder if I am doing something wrong… or if my path is just different. There are nights I cannot sleep. My mind keeps racing because things are not going the way I hoped. And deep down, there is that quiet fear What if I never make it? I know I cannot be the only one who feels this way sometimes. Does anyone else feel like this too? But even in all these thoughts, I remind myself of one thing Progress is not always loud. Growth is not always visible. Some seasons are for building, even when it feels like nothing is happening. So if you feel stuck, tired, or unsure… you are not alone. Keep going. Even slow steps forward still count. One day, everything will make sense. 🤍

Parenting is not just about giving instructions or correcting mistakes, it is also about listening. Many children grow up feeling unheard, not because their parents do not love them, but because their voices are often dismissed too quickly. What may seem like “talking back” is sometimes just a child trying to express thoughts, feelings, or confusion. When parents constantly interrupt, shut down opinions, or respond with anger, children slowly withdraw. They begin to keep things to themselves, not because they have nothing to say, but because they feel it will not matter. Over time, this can create distance, making communication harder as they grow older. Allowing children to air their opinions does not mean losing authority. It means creating a safe space where they can speak honestly without fear. It teaches them confidence, emotional intelligence, and respect. When a child feels heard, they are more likely to listen in return. There will be moments when children are wrong, and guidance is needed. But correction should come with patience, not frustration. When parents take time to understand before reacting, they show love in a way that words alone cannot express. The Bible speaks clearly about this balance. In Ephesians 6:4, it says, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” This reminds parents that constant harshness or dismissal can lead to resentment, while guidance rooted in love builds stronger relationships. Similarly, Colossians 3:21 says, “Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” When children feel constantly criticised or unheard, discouragement can take root, affecting their confidence and how they see themselves. Children are not just to be instructed, they are to be understood. They are individuals with thoughts forming, emotions developing, and perspectives growing. When parents listen, they help shape not just behaviour, but character. In the end, a child who feels heard at home will not be forced to seek validation elsewhere. Listening today builds trust for tomorrow, and that trust becomes the foundation of a strong and lasting relationship.
