@GMIgorSmirnov Great! White seems lost, but this leads to stalemate. Qe3+, Kxe3 Rg3++, Kd4/e4/e2 and stalemate because white is not able to make a move anymore. First, as a second white move, I thought about Re5++, but then the white king still has a single move left (Kg3), so no stalemate.

@CondorSZN I don't think I would call it pity. It's sportsmanship. You don't show up your opponent. I think both coaches did the right thing running out the clock. Sportsmanship and respect are things that are often lost in sports today.

I don't think this is being discussed enough. Andy Reid felt so bad for Pete that he did the closest thing he could to a mercy rule in the NFL.
