This seems so backwards to me. The social media fixation that is happening here is the idea that others should produce content that YOU enjoy to entertain you rather than just express themselves and have fun with their friends.

People on TikTok are like “If someone you don’t know says hi to you as you pass them on a sidewalk, they’re engaging in a manipulation tactic called ‘boundary-bombing’—here’s 5 signs to look out for” and then their next post is “The Village Theory” about how people need community

If you’ve never had a fake email job these exist. They’re called work trips. Your job sends you to Suck and Fuck Arkansas to stay at a Marriott that is next to a boarded up Applebees and a military recruitment center. The only good part about them is blacking out at the hotel bar

Former head of UFC PR here. Trump's name didn't appear in a single press release, one-sheet briefing, talking point, UFC-produced document, book, or piece of content before 2016. The only time I recall his name being mentioned within my own earshot was execs laughing about his involvement with the money-pit that was Affliction MMA. This narrative is simply false.
Luke Thomas Gets Political (LTGP)@LTGetsPolitical

This is such an easy argument to win, so let's try an experiment. Find any media article or interview with UFC execs written anywhere from 2005 to 2015 where they pinpoint Trump hosting a couple of shows in 2001 as pivotal or even relevant to the company's turnaround. I've looked. They literally do not exist. The myth making starts in 2016 when White out of nowhere starts pinning UFC success on Trump, something he and Lorenzo Fertitta as well as every sports writer who talked to them somehow failed to mention ever ONCE until 2016.

1/ It's 1985. I just did stand-up on David Letterman the night before. Five minutes. I'm 27 years old and I think I've made it. My agent calls me the next day and fires me.

@alsmith208 Obviously not all art is for everyone but I don’t feel like the purpose of a critic is to put themselves in the shoes of someone else who did appreciate the art.

Such a bizarre way to consume anything. Dave truly believes that wrestling matches have Objective Quality that is a universal truth completely disconnected from the experience of the observer. A fascinating philosophical concept really.
Wrestling Observer@WONF4W

Tommaso Ciampa vs Mark Briscoe Bryan: "This was wild and very bloody. It was a great match. Not my cup of tea." Dave: "I thought the match was awesome but it was absolutely not my cup of tea either. It was a really well done match. It was a great match but I didn't like it." youtu.be/F41LLvflSRw?si…

What does it mean to have a match that was “great” but you didn’t enjoy? That the participants worked really hard?

Was The Boys finale generational aura loss for Homelander? I’m not sure man, I’m an adult with a job. I don’t know what those words mean. Honestly, lately I’ve been finding more and more often I don’t know what things mean. I’m nearing the age when my father’s mind started to go
