Several years ago, I asked a senior Omani scholar a question that has puzzled many in the Arab world: why does Muscat maintain such deep mutual trust with Tehran, despite decades of Iranian behavior that convinced most Arab states that Iran is not a reliable partner? He answered with quiet confidence: “Because we fought them throughout history. We understood them, and they understood us.”

Those are the Leaders of #Iran:
Text translated from Persian: (From the narrator Faiza Ghaffar Haddadi)
#Larijani
I am writing this about my wonderful two-hour meeting with Mrs. Farideh Motahhari, wife of the martyr Ali Larijani and daughter of the martyr Morteza Motahhari.
The meeting took place several months ago, on an autumn evening in her home. We were supposed to talk about her father, but throughout our conversation, the name "Ali" was constantly on her lips.
She said: "When Ali isn't home, I feel as if my hands have been cut off! When he is, he does all the house chores without me asking a thing. He buys groceries, cleans the vegetables and chicken, and washes the dishes."
I was astonished. How could a man who bears the responsibility for Iran's national security outside the home clean chicken and wash dishes?
Then I understood that all of this was when "Ali was home," but Ali hadn't returned home for six months.
That wasn't strange. Farida said that Ali never took a salary, neither from the Shura Council nor from his subsequent responsibilities. For years, his salary was the same as a university professor's, and he even deposited a portion of it into the public treasury each month to avoid being in debt.
She said, "When we were buying this house, we needed money, and my daughter suggested, 'Dad, can't you collect your back pay from the Council?'"
He refused, saying, "We owe this country so much. I'm not asking for anything."
Mrs. Farida added, "After his candidacy was rejected in the elections, many people came for days on end, sitting in this very chair you're sitting in now, asking him to object, to defend himself, to say something, to write an open letter, or to file a complaint...
He listened to everyone calmly and bid his guests farewell respectfully, telling them, 'God willing, things will resolve themselves. I can't burden the system with any additional costs.'" But he knew very well how to defend the regime, like those powerful men who excel at responding to their opponents until they silence them.
When I read the news of Dr. Ali's martyrdom last night, I wasn't worried about him, nor even about the revolution. He received his due, and the revolution doesn't depend on individuals.
But I thought a lot about Mrs. Farida, the woman whose father, Murtada, was martyred one day, and who yesterday lost her companion, her mentor, and her husband, Ali. When he was away from home, she felt as if her hands had been cut off. And even her son, Murtada, whose voice was beautiful and whose call to prayer was so melodious.

Iran’s women’s national football team returned home to Tabriz, greeted by crowds with music, flower garlands and wreaths on March 17. The players, who had been offered asylum in Australia but chose to return, travelled via Malaysia and Türkiye before crossing the Bazargan border.
Several team members had earlier withdrawn their asylum applications in Australia after refusing to sing the national anthem ahead of their opening match at the Women’s Asian Cup
