Like how wild is that? The guy who stands to gain the most was a top-50 recruit out of high school that committed to the defending national champion. Shot over 40% from 3 this year.

I expect Hill to transfer, but do think we are in a great position to absorb the loss. Lewis and Jennings were all-conference guards this season and Nowell a previous No.33 recruit who posted a 62% true shooting % this year (same as Hill). Speaks to depth of this year’s team.

There's disincentive to leave in every profession. Pro athletes have buyouts. Coaches have buyouts. Most industries have non-competes.
Making transfers sit a year isn't the answer. But transfer fees? That might work, and it would give mid-majors some money to go out and add players/retain them. Buyouts written into multi-year contracts would help too, especially if schools actually have the balls to enforce them.

Phil loves his son. 😂 Beating UNC is big. It’s probably the best 1st year VCU coaching performance with Anthony Grant beating Duke in his first year also being in that conversation.
For me the biggest W has to be VCU beating Kansas in the Elite 8 to go to the Final Four though.

I thought UNC got open looks in OT and just missed. Do I think Hubert should have stopped switching everything with the Hill/JS mismatch? I do, but Stevenson's been their best defender all year so it's tough. End of regulation play was also bad, IMO. x.com/jamos14/status…

Unreal comeback from VCU. Ultimately kinda thought going into the game that VCU's guards were just better than UNC's guards. Took a half and took Martelli identifying the Hill/Stevenson matchup as one that could be exploited in switches, but that ended up bearing out.
