Crazy that the Tesla Model S will halt production after 14 years, still undefeated by the competition. I lost count of how many "Tesla killers" from the OEMs were talked up and faded away. The BMW i3, Mitsubishi i-miev, Jaguar i-pace, Porsche Panamera, Fisker Karma, Nissan Leaf, etc. All footnotes at best. More recent cars like the Hyundai Kona approach the performance and utility of the original 2012 Model S, but the modern S is in another class entirely. Some of the recent BYD models come close, after 15 years of development. I still remember seeing my first one in the wild, it was like looking through a time machine.

Already +24 hours since @madebygoogle update for Chromecast nuke down hundred of thousand of users worldwide and still not a single official communication, nor estimated dates for restoring. One of the worst PR ever.

@ambientshitpost Just set your clock to March 7th 2025 and you’ll be able to add it back . You won’t be able to do anything with it because the certificates expired on March 9th .

My Chromecast stopped working, so I tried troubleshooting. As a last resort, I made my Google Home forget it, and factor reset it. Now I can't even get through the Chromecast setup process!

@Google chromecast just demonstrated perfectly how NOT to roll out a global update to a product. They literally bricked everyone's TV at 6pm on a Sunday evening 😑 Worse still, zero communication. Kids will soon be studying this PR disaster!

@parantigaul SSL certificates expired . Just wait until they renew them (if they do) and push a firmware update containing new SSL certificates for the CC web service that are using SSL as well.

Google, WTF?! 2nd gen chromecast got shit update a while ago. Instead of "upgrade," the user is getting a downgrade. Not just me, a hundred of users in reddit are getting the same problem too.

@WAKEUPDONNlE SSL certificates simply expired on all chromecast and chromecast servers . Just change the date on your phone to March 8 2025 and you’ll be able to add them back to your Google Home app if you removed them . Google will need to push an updated firmware containing new cert

Can Google actually put out a statement about the chromecast outage? They just keep replying to tweets asking those complaining dm them, but it takes two mins to see EVERYONE is having the issue, can you not let your customers know you’re trying to fix the issue?
