Notes from watching @johnsummit on Twitch reviewing “Lights Go Out” remix submissions: 1. The technical side is basically solved. Everyone sounds good, and AI will only make that more obvious. 2. He wanted remixes that captured the essence of the original and added to the story. 3. Most focused on showing off and missed that. Lesson: we’re moving into a scene built on ideas, not sounds.

After more than 10 years in this business, I decided to stop. Last summer, I sensed I was on autopilot. I was no longer motivated by music. I knew that was bad, but I ignored it. Fortunately, some people made me realize I was on a path to nowhere, maybe even retirement. Despite a lot of resistance within myself, I ultimately checked out of the rat race. I thought it would be a month, maybe two, but a year has passed. A year in which I faced my own demons, detoxed from social media, and learned that nothing is what it seems. In the end, I asked myself a simple question: “What do I like?” I like music. It feels good to say it because I thought I didn’t. I like music as a passion, as a hobby. That’s how it all began anyway. I’m starting my final journey as Sak Noel, a journey from the outside to the inside. This is more for me than it is for you, but if you stick around, you may find we all like the same music.

“Trumpets” reunion 8 years later. A song that changed my life, gave me the opportunity to live in America and opened so many doors. Seeing my brother @duttypaul last night absolutely on top of his game was special. Always remember where you come from and for me thats “Trumpets”.
