@_JoyCastro This is one of the most thoughtful takes I’ve seen. Reasoned and insightful - and yes, our world would be a very different place (a much better place) if higher ed was free to all.

Thinking about the ways class resentment might animate some of the brutality by police towards student protesters. When I worked minimum-wage jobs, the very fact that I *hoped* to go to college—& then *was* going—was a source of ridicule & derision among co-workers & bosses.

After three-plus years & much wandering, I’ve lost 95% of the writing panic that’s plagued this #memoir about sister Lecia. Don’t mistake this for confidence or ‘flow’, which never happens for me. Period. Full stop. But the outcome’s no longer my business. If it sucks, oh well….#NotDoneYetButBetter
