.@UCanBeatVideoG1 I just finished your last video on FF6. Much like your other videos/series, this is what I would call a definitive and comprehensive review of the game. End to end. I have no use for other guides. Well done. No notes. Another triumph.

What I’d really like to see in 2026 is less toxicity and hostility in the cybersecurity community and more empathy, understanding, and coaching when people screw up. People are going to get things wrong, have bad takes, and say some dumb (or even incorrect) things. It happens, and it’s normal. What’s not normal, and should not be normalized within the community, is personal attacks, insulting someone’s intelligence, mocking, and just general meanness. To me, acting this way is a form of gatekeeping because it creates a super toxic environment where mistakes are treated like character flaws instead of learning opportunities. Plus, it strongly signals that status is ultimately maintained through intimidation instead of helpful mentorship. It’s gross. And in a field that already struggles with burnout, imposter syndrome, and tons of barriers to entry, it actively harms the community when we allow this to be ok. Correction and accountability needs to happen when people are wrong, yes, but it doesn’t have to be cruel or involve publicly shaming people. Subject matter expertise doesn’t entitle anyone to be a jerk. So, let’s all work on being kinder in 2026. Please?

@Blosept1 Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know."

@cyb3rops So you're saying I can just reach out to you and ask for help to do something? Even without any sort of professional or interpersonal context?

It happens more and more often that people contact me using only nicknames. No real name, no company, no affiliation - nothing! They just start talking to me as if I already knew who they are. “Hi, I want this.” “Hi! Can you help me with that?” And I have no idea who I’m talking to, why I should care, or what the context even is. It’s strange how unaware people have become of how to approach someone. In the old days (yes, I’m old), when you reached out to someone, you said who you are, what you do, and why you’re getting in touch. You gave a bit of context, showed respect for the other person’s time and maybe ended with a “thanks a lot for your help.” It had some structure. Now it’s either “Hi, I want this” with no context at all - or or the complete opposite: a wall of AI-generated text that says nothing and takes forever to read. In both cases it’s the same problem. Either no effort or way too much of the wrong kind.
