This topic probably isn't interesting to everybody, so feel free to ignore. I'm basically just going over things I learned along the path of Financially Independent Retired Early. The last few posts covered these: Mindset - Determine your "Level of Seriousness" - Time is Money (Friend) - A Dollar isn't a Dollar This one will focus on: Deep Honesty (To Thine Own Self Be True) What I mean by this is if you feel you are serious about the idea of early retirement enough that you really do want to change habits in order to lower debt and improve savings, you now have to think about your non-negotiables. One of mine was a bathtub. And that might sound really silly but when I'm not feeling well, sick, rundown, whatever it might be, lots of water, rest, and a hot bath are how I rally. So when we went house hunting, that was a non-negotiable. The realtor had never heard that before haha. Other things I am much more flexible about, but I just knew I couldn't give that one up. Back then another was my gym membership. No matter what else we got rid of, that one always stayed on the monthly expenses. Again, it was part of my health routine, both mentally and physically. Every person is very unique. If you absolutely must stop at Starbucks every morning and can't give that up, that is your decision to make. If part of your lifestyle involves gambling and you know you can't give it up, that again is your decision. I do truly mean at all times to make the best decisions for you. I'm the kind of person that can live without. Whether it's carbohydrates or alcohol or a nice car or nice clothes. I just don't need for a lot. Except a gym and a bathtub I guess. So don't battle with yourself on the path. Know yourself. What is going to make the path walkable and what is going to make it too miserable to walk. Because life is also about joy as much as I do also enjoy a bit of suffering. The FIRE community I think can become as dogmatic as any other. They will establish hard and fast rules and maybe, in my opinion, sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. I learned to stop regretting yesterday or hyper focusing on tomorrow, but instead enjoying today. So do make sure to focus on today as you build your tomorrow. You can't honestly balance if you don't honestly know yourself. So talk with yourself honestly about it all and make the best decisions for you! Children were another non-negotiable. Wish we had more.

MARINA ABRAMOVIĆ: “Trump is the best thing to ever happen to us. He is a magician of the highest order whose job is to create confusion and usher in a new world order.” I’d write this off as a conspiracy theory if Trump wasn’t doing EXACTLY what she describes in the video.

Honestly just praying I can retire early to help my wife w all of our kids and work on establishing a sustainable permaculture farm w a food forest. Sad that the psychology is often that we have to make a ton of money to detach from the system. I’m guilty of that. But I’m working on our version or partial version of that without the giant money bags. End of the day, it’s the Lord who provides. I appreciate the encouragement.

Somebody asked about me being a "Bogleheads" investor (I still don't know how to properly pronounce this) before becoming involved with GameStop. That's correct and I think it is worth sharing again so I'm going to do a post a day for awhile on this topic. As usual, these will be long story telling posts that a lot of people will absolutely get frustrated with. I can't wait to start typing! About twenty five or so years ago I took a class in college called Personal Finance. The professor of that class was, unknown to me initially, a legend in the community. His first statement to the 300 or so students in the room was, "Raise your hand if you pay rent every month." Of course, every hand goes up. "You pay part of your rent to me." What a way to start the class. But what an important lesson. Professor Shepard would go on to explain that he teaches for free, to help students understand how to build wealth, and that it is incremental steps - base hits, rather than home runs. What I only learned recently was what an impact he had not just on thousands of young students like myself, but on the community. He gave back, very generously so. Yet I don't believe he ever mentioned that in class. I spoke to him last year and thanked him for changing the course of my life and the lives of my college friend group. That was the only class we all took together in our time at UC Davis, yet it profoundly affected us all. A fate thing maybe, to bring us together, put us in those seats in "the Death Star" building as we called it, learning from a legend, and still close friends a quarter century later. So that moment put me on the path to FIRE, Financially Independent Retired Early. Many are familiar with this approach, Dave Ramsey, or Jack Bogle. While I never read any of Ramsey's work, I learned about Mr. Bogle upon leaving college and beginning to set to the task of adulting: paying off student debt, paying off my new car, saving for a house, and buying insurance policies. Twenty years later, I think I might be starting to figure the adulting thing out. Maybe they should have had more classes on it at UC Davis... but maybe the only way to learn to ride a bicycle is to get on a bicycle. Jack Bogle is famous for his leadership at Vanguard, pioneering of index funds, and philosophies about diversifying and minimizing costs - "buying the haystack" rather than "trying to find the needle." He would probably shake his head pretty strongly at me, after over a decade of diligently plugging away each month, never market timing, never second guessing, "buying VTSAX and chilling," dumping all my mutual funds and ETFs and full porting into GameStop. Welp, sometimes people and plans change. But I have to say that I would not be FIRE'd without Professor Shepard and Mr. Bogle's wisdom and without having very diligently followed their slow and steady, minimize cost, base hit rather than home run approach. The first Principle I discussed on the topic of Financial Freedom during the YouTube videos was Mindset. And the first Element I talked about regarding Mindset is that one must "determine their level of seriousness." I said, "If you're serious, it's going to work, but if you aren't, it's just not. You can't go into this thinking it's easy, it's decades of hard work and commitment." And I must emphasize how important this first element is. Just like weight loss, fitness, and sobriety are extraordinarily challenging areas at which we endeavor, personal finance is a habit of mind, soul, and even flesh. So this is the first of these posts. I know it isn't saying much, but the obvious: If you want to change your life financially, you gotta get your head right. You have to be serious, motivated, committed for the long haul. It isn't easy and there will be set backs. For me, Mr. Shepard's story was imprinted on my mind every step of the way. I could always look back at a man that was on a mission and that carried that mission forward to reach more people. And in so doing, changed lives for the better. I wanted to retire by 55 as an educator. I retired at 42. GameStop helped, but it just shaved a decade off the goal. The foundation was mindset, habits, and a plan that played out every time I ate a meal at home, skipped a new video game, or cut my own hair (it's been awhile!). This is not a road for everybody. It fits my minimalist nature. I am content spending a day in my garden moreso than a day on a vacation. If this is something you're interested in, don't overthink it. Don't try for a home run. Just start right now. Set a goal, cut some costs, seek contentment in small things. One small step after another and before you know it, you're crossing the stage shaking your boss's hand.

🚨 NEWS ALERT/CANDACE OWENS 🚨 I just got off the phone with a source on her media staff and they told me why she is going after Erika Kirk. They said (not verbatim) “she isn’t going after Erika because she wants to destroy TPUSA, that’s just a byproduct. She, wants to poison the jury pool in the Tyler Robinson case to either get a hung jury or exoneration so she and others can BLAME ISRAEL” The source also stated that Candace is banking on having fans in Utah which is a pretty conservative state.

Love seeing @OMGTheWhyFiles getting the attention it deserves. When God spoke the simulation code was written. A virus infected it a long time ago, but because God works outside of time and space (the simulation) He also inserted an antivirus program aka a redemption plan. aka Jesus.
