Nobody disagrees with informed consent. But when it’s deployed as a reason not to say “yes, get your flu shot,” it stops being a medical concept and becomes a stalling tactic. Cassidy asked a simple question. The Surgeon General’s entire job is to communicate clear public health guidance to the American people. If you can’t say “yes, get your flu vaccine” without a paragraph of caveats, you’ve already answered the question.
