I get torn between: - I want Bitcoin at $600k now And - The longer we stay here the better it is for stacking But I’m starting to lean towards $600k We’ve had years to stack at these levels

@TongHeConv That's an interesting insight. Translation helps with words, but shared conversation is really about context, timing, emotion, and keeping everyone engaged in the same moment. Solving that feels like a much bigger opportunity.

@btcframe Appreciate it. Still early, but the more I speak with multilingual families, the more convinced I am that the unsolved problem is live shared conversation, not sentence translation.

Back in 2020 I designed a viral kickstarter product raising ~$3M. It was called the Couch Console. My initial reaction when I saw the brief was - "well, who tf needs this?". A part of me still feels that way but I was dead set on designing the best freaking couch caddy out there. When it launched, it totally blew up and I didn't understand why - until I read some of the comments. A lot of people who were physically disabled and bed ridden shared that this product would be a game changer for them. I hadn't thought about that, and I'm sure the founder didn't either. And so a very small group of people turned me into a believer. But here we are. Never thought I'd be designing a competitor to a .... table?

This is a new paradigm for interacting with Claude that is significantly more "inline" with all the other human activity org-wide. Once you do all of the under the hood engineering work to make this "just work" (e.g. across tools, integrations, compute environments, memory, security, etc.), Claude basically joins the team in a seamless way - you can talk to it as you would talk to a person and it can help with a very large variety of workloads. Imo this is the 3rd major redesign of LLM UIUX. The first paradigm was that the LLM is a website you go to, the second was that it is an app you download to your computer. This third one is that it is a self-contained, persistent, asynchronous entity with org-wide tools and context, working alongside teams of humans. It really takes a while to wrap your head around it, but it works and it is awesome.

Introducing Claude Tag, a new way for teams to work with Claude. In Slack, Claude joins as a team member with access to the channels and tools you choose. Tag Claude in and delegate tasks to it while you focus on other work.

Early thinking: shared-room first, not individual-phone first. For TongHe, the likely form factor is a small tabletop device or home hub for multilingual family conversation. The product has to hear the room, handle multiple speakers, and help quietly without making the family perform for the technology.

@btcframe I’m working on a different but related angle with TongHe: shared-room AI for multilingual family conversation. Same broader question: what happens when AI moves out of apps and into live human environments?

Late night thoughts #13 I’m 2 shifts into this summer job in a warehouse while my teaching job is out and….. Wow. It is just… You go in do the same thing every day for 8-9 hours and leave. There’s no laughter, no joy, no emotion. Just grunt work. And people have been there for decades. No life in their eyes. I’m thankful for the chance to increase my income this summer but it is motivating me more than ever to start my own business and never have to do something like this again.

My friend makes $100M a year in fees before a single company exits. He runs a $5B venture fund. Less than 30 people at the firm. $5B committed at 2% management fee = $100M a year. Over a 10 year fund life that's $1B in fees alone. Now the upside. If even one fund returns 10x on $5B that's $50B total. $45B in gains. 20% carry = $9B to the GP. $1B in fees + $9B in carry = $10B from one fund. This is why small funds are a bad paying hobby. You need scale for the math to work. A $5M fund at 2% is $100K a year. Split that across partners, staff, legal, ops. You're net negative. Capital management at scale is the best business in the world. And it's not just venture. RIAs rolling millions of people into T-bills or the S&P and collecting basis points print money at scale too.
