@rhisul @wrklsshrd I'd say it's because there is a burning platform now that didn't exist in 2008. Back then, people wanted the same success but only if they don't need to change. Which doesn't work. Now they haven't got a choice BUT to change.

@wrklsshrd @bubana Less so about digital first orgs emerging (although agree) but the principles from 2008 and 2012 US presidential campaigns (as one example) are still being considered as *new* and just presented in a different way, why?

@wrklsshrd @rhisul Change needed is substantial and touches all areas - from tech to leadership. Hence we talk abt transformation. NFPs are risk-averse for good & bad reasons. Decisions are usually made by old-skool thinkers and leaders who have not yet understood the impact of digital culture.

@bubana @rhisul Also, why no charities set up digital first competitors for themselves (with the legacy brand still doing the service delivery?). It may be that change from within is impossible, but from the near-without could work.
