I’m old enough to remember when attacking the Pope would hurt your polling with US evangelicals. But since they stuck with Trump through the lies, rapes, child rapes, adultery, fraud and wars — I guess it’s safe to say that who those US evangelicals worship isn’t Christ.
Donald Trump just attacked the Pope because he simply asked for Peace. Trump called Pope Leo XIV “weak” for opposing a war with at this point is baffling, for caring about innocent civilians in Iran - the same civilians that Trump once supported. For caring about American troops who God bless may end up on Iranian soil soon. He even said: “If I wasn’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican.” Let that sink in. The man who can not name a Bible verse is now telling the leader of 1.4 billion Catholics how to be Pope. Pope Leo XIV - the first American Pope - stood at Easter Mass and said: choose peace, not war. Not domination. Dialogue. Trump’s response was to call him weak, mock his election, and brag about himself. One man speaks for the poor, the innocent, and the dignity of every human life. The other speaks only for himself.
