Week 30: Parent-Teacher Conferences, NJHS Bake Sale, March Madness Trasketball Game, Identifying Nets, Surface Area, Volume,& Dividing Fractions. A filled week with lots of students taking the lead, practicing IXL skills, and reciprocal teaching. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Week 28 was filled with writing, solving, graphing, &checking for solutions to real-world inequalities. My NJHS students volunteered to read to the Kindergarten classes& our PBIS event was the Staff vs the Students March Madness basketball game. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

So proud to coach+lead this team of students in Challenge 24. They persevered, worked through their weaknesses together&built upon their strengths to uplift each other.Two students placed in the top 16 overall & one student was 4th overall. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Week 27: Practicing the Order of Operations, pairs check strategy, read across america spirit week, writing inequalities for real-world situations, test prep questions, task cards, students teaching peers & explaining our thinking at the board. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Week 26: District assessment, distributive property stations, test prep, exponents, IXL, exit slips, women's history display, black history month display, roll & simplify game, exponential war card game, find the mistake questions. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

6th graders practiced simplifying algebraic expressions by using the distributive property via reciprocal teaching, CPM Magic Tricks, dry-erase boards, and IXL practice with area models. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Congratulations to our Mathcounts team for earning 4th place out of 13 schools +one of our students ranked in the top 16 contestants.Students enjoyed solving higher-level problems & working together in the MathBowl competition. So proud of them! #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Celebrating Valentine's Day: I love to see students bringing gifts for their classmates and their teachers to spread the love. This year it happened to be "No one eats alone day" as well and it was nice to see all of the families paying a visit. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

6th graders finished their Pizza Algebraic Expression posters projects! Awesome work explaining their thinking with modeling and reasoning as well as multiple representations. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Week 24: 6th graders continued to practice combining like terms and identifying parts of algebraic expressions using organized tables, color-coding, and teaching/sharing strategies at the board. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Week 23 Photo Dump: Students explored combining like terms with the area and perimeter of algebra tiles.Teams competed in Class Dojo points+ more students went to the board to teach the class. IXL videos & dry-erase boards helped in understanding.#LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

I was so excited today to see a student draw this table without any guidance. When asked why she drew this, she said it helps to organize her "like terms."I teach this later on but something in her brain told her to create this as a tool now.🧠🤔 #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

A short week due to cold days but a good time to take advantage of small-group instruction,practice released items,work on standards in IXL,collaborate to solve equations w/rational coefficients.Congrats 6th grade for getting attendance prizes!#LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools

Week 21 was short but still productive. Students solved for variables using multiplication+ division & balance scales.They found+corrected mistakes in others' work, used dry-erase boards, &my SEL class started researching for black history month. #LincolnPrideWCS @warrenschools
