What a beautiful day to celebrate Ukrainian heritage in Edmonton!
I spent time at UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival then went to the @cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company to celebrate renaming a street in Beverly “Cheremosh Way” and did some dancing with @JanisIrwin! 💛 💙
For over 50 years @cheremosh has been a leader in Ukrainian dance artistry. Today we celebrated Cheremosh’s history and heritage on Cheremosh Way! Thank you @JanisIrwin & @DesjarlaisBlake for your support and for dancing in the Kolomeyka you’re awesome 👏 #SlavaUkraini#yegarts

When Stephan Moravski designed the set for our storyline’s village, he added hollyhock, a popular flower in Ukraine. Little did he know that this flower blooms behind Cheremosh’s studio every summer.
Come see the rest of this incredible set on tour - Edmonton June 4 & 5.
Kelowna, we can’t wait to see you tonight at the Kelowna Community Theatre! What a beautiful part of the world. Stop by our merch table to make a donation to the UCC Canada-Ukraine fund.

Patterns of kalyna (cranberries) are common with Ukrainian embroidery, as they are the national symbol of Ukraine, representing love and motherhood. This @cheremosh dance costume is intertwined with maple leaves, representing Ukrainian and Canadian cultures. #ThreadsThatConnect
