Before you dose off to sleep, just a kindly reminder: Though there is indeed evil in the world, there is much more good. Though people often ask why there is evil and why do people do evil, I think that is relatively easy to understand; envy, hate, jealousy, avarice and just plain willful ignorance. But human kindness and good are far more mysterious. Why do people do lovely things for others that gain them nothing? The best description of this comes from Alan Watts who said, and I will paraphrase, “There is good and evil in the world but it’s not an equal proposition. There is far more good than evil. But there is enough evil to give ‘good’ a run for its money. To make the game worth the candle.” Good night and may God bless you!

Trust God when you're tempted to lose hope.

@tpusafaith This seems like an everyday struggle for me, but somehow everyday God sends me someone or something for reassurance. It is His Grace, I’m sure of it. I’m learning to trust and that is such a gift. I couldn’t be more thankful.

@rustyrockets I’m feeling very much the same. As much as it can be used for evil, I believe it can also be used for genuine good. However I wonder how many on here are preaching for the only reason of giving all glory to God vs self righteousness. My hope is for the former.

I’m taking some time off to reflect on how (or even if) I can be of any use in this fraught, tense and often ugly space. So much hate, so many lies and now deaths. I know this miraculous technology can be used to serve Jesus, I pray we will work out how.

Pray with me October 4, 2025 Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I declare that my soul belongs to You and not to the chaos of this world. The enemy will not have my mind, my peace, or my rest. You said, “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” So I come. I lay down every burden, every weight, every anxious thought. I refuse the counterfeit rest of this world, and I receive the true rest of Heaven. I rest in Your finished work on the cross. I rest in the blood that speaks a better word. I rest in the victory that has already been won. Right now, I command every storm in my mind to be still. I silence the voice of accusation and fear. I take authority over exhaustion, striving, and unrest. The Lord is my Shepherd: I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He restores my soul. I am not driven by fear, I am led by peace. I am not pushed by anxiety, I am carried by grace. My rest is not weakness: it is warfare. When I rest in Christ, I declare that the battle is already over. When I rest, I remind hell that I am seated with Christ in heavenly places. So I rest today under the shadow of the Almighty. I rest knowing the victory is sure. I rest because my King reigns. My heart is still, my mind is clear, my spirit is anchored. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
