a little designer rant langg recently, i’ve been seeing designs that look really similar to layouts i’ve previously made for my clients. at first, i didn’t think much of it and just assumed i was overthinkinggg. 😭 but a few days ago, one of my clients actually reached out and asked if i had made a similar layout for another brand because the designs looked almost the same. i told her no, because i didn’t. and honestly, that made me a little sad. from what i can tell, some of these layouts seem to be ai-generated using existing designs as references. i have nothing against ai at all, i mean it’s a tool. but it does feel discouraging when you’ve spent hours conceptualizing, revising, and customizing a design, only to come across something that looks almost identical with a different theme or color palette. this isn’t me trying to start drama or call anyoneee out. i just wanted to share how it feels on the creator sideee of things. 🥹
