I’m so done. I don't feel I can be Engene anymore. Watching this fandom turn on someone who has only ever shown love and effort has been appalling. This outcome is not what any member wanted. Their silence says everything. If they were angry, they would still put out a basic statement. If they were happy, the company would smooth it out. Silence only happens when they cannot speak... when the truth contradicts the official narrative. Nothing about this looks like his choice. The only villain here is BELIFT. They control the lineup, the timing, the contracts and the decisions. No member has the power to change that. I’m done engaging with people who refuse to understand the industry and insist on making Heeseung the villain when he isn’t. Also, I no longer see any value fighting to bring him back to a fandom that doesn't deserve him.

Fair I have overstated. I checked media not the filings...that's on me. They have publicly announced all the changes but have not always done regulatory filings. I am not an anti or boycotter, but I'm not here for hate and rumours. Especially, the Heeseung was selfish and signing a new contract proves it. I just want the hate to stop.

The claim that any artist contract changes would be considered "material information" is overstated. The renewal of BTS members' contracts was filed as a regulatory disclosure, but ENHYPEN is not BTS. The renewals of SEVENTEEN (2026) and TXT (2025) did not involve a regulatory filing. Kim Garam leaving LSF (2022) and Danielle Marsh's contract termination from NJZ (2025) also did not involve a regulatory filing. Danielle's case is arguably much more damaging than Heeseung's and would meet the criteria for materiality more easily. Yet it still did not. So the absence of a formal disclosure means nothing. We know nothing at all about Heeseung's contract except that the original would be set to expire in 2027 due to length limits under SK law.

Let’s be clear — there is no evidence of any “new” contract for Heeseung or ENHYPEN. HYBE has publicly announced every major contract renewal or termination for its groups and artists when such changes occur. For ENHYPEN (and Heeseung), there has been no announcement or statement about renewal. Based on their 2020 debut, the only verifiable contract is the original one, which would run to 2027 under Korean law. It’s also important to understand that standard idol contracts already give the company broad authority over both group and solo activities. Solo work does not require a new contract. These decisions are ultimately controlled by the company, and we have no visibility into how much input the artists had. This is a corrected statement based on regulatory filing requirements.

I completely understand you're worried about the members. I just wanted to say it is hard to know what’s actually his choice. HS is under the same contract as the others, and those contracts give the company the authority to direct solo or group activities, and they control the timing. From everything HS has said over the years, he genuinely wanted to do both. And with how quiet everything has been, it doesn’t appear to have been a happy, mutual outcome. The members have also dropped many comments/actions to show they're still close. I understand it's a rough time but honestly the common enemy is Belift.

I am with you. We should be keeping it focused on the company only. I believe this has been incredibly unfair on every member and we don't need to add to that. We need to consider their wellbeing too. If it's hard for us, imagine how it is for them. I am supporting both and I'm not spamming their feeds or boycotting.

There are no new contracts. They’re still under the same contracts. HYBE is a publicly listed company, so any new contracts would have to be disclosed. Standard K‑pop exclusive contracts already cover both solo and group activities, and the company can direct those as it chooses. We don’t, and may never know, how much of this was his choice. But based on how it’s been managed, it doesn’t read as mutual or happy. Personally, I believe he wanted both...based on everything he's ever said and the way it's played out.

From Day 1, people were theorizing this on reddit and I think it makes sense— During renewal talks, Heeseung probably told Belift he wanted to leave to pursue a solo career. That's obviously a huge hit for Belift and Enha, so Belift proposed he can be a soloist as long as he stays in the label. Imo Heeseung had leverage in the discussion here. Belift didn't want to lose him so they allowed it even if it was abrupt and painful. By keeping him in the company, they can at least control his debut + have another source of revenue. Whatever the truth is tho, it doesn't change that it was Heeseung's choice. The other 6 probably renewed.
