Modular synths with CV are such the rage nowadays. However the regular old MIDI already built into all your gear is pretty modular and patchable for a fraction of the price. MIDI was designed to replace control voltage....and for decades it did.

@kingbritt @PeteRock I’m surprised no one has mentioned Dilla’s running the 8 outs of the MPC through the Presonus ACP88. That was the key to the 2000era Dilla drums. It’s a rack of 8 channel gate/compression that interact similar to a SSL channel strip. Basically instant transient shaper/punch.
