Zack Snyder character assassinated Superman primarily as well Batman; the man does not truly understand 'deconstruction'. Also it does not help that for their 'new' cinematic universe at the time to reintroduce a popular hero being deconstructed for your first outing, that just cemented the fate of the DCEU before it ever began. Of course leave it to the edge lord dude bros that think people are 'frightened' by deconstruction when it was under the guise of character assassination. Thank god Snyder is never touching these characters again. He left a stain on Superman still felt to this day.
