Turkish Scientist Measures the "Unmeasurable" in Quantum Physics
Turkish physicist Mete Atatüre has delivered a major advance in Quantum Physics by successfully measuring fluctuations in light intensity long considered beyond experimental reach.
Using a technique known as "light squeezing," Atatüre and his team managed to suppress quantum noise to unprecedented levels, enabling the precise detection of signals previously thought immeasurable.
In doing so, the research effectively challenges long-standing assumptions rooted in the theoretical frameworks of Albert Einstein and subsequent generations of physicists regarding the limits of measurement at the quantum scale.
A key aspect of the experiment involved the creation of a highly controlled quantum system, often described as a "super-atom," engineered to operate at a scale roughly 100 times smaller than a conventional atom.
This system allowed researchers to probe the fundamental behavior of light with exceptional precision.
Born in 1975 in Kayseri, Atatüre ranked among the top 500 in Türkiye’s national university entrance exam before completing his undergraduate studies in physics at Bilkent University.
He later earned his PhD in quantum physics in the United Kingdom and went on to build his academic career at Cambridge, where he also worked in the same department as renowned physicist Stephen Hawking.
In recognition of his pioneering work, Atatüre was awarded the prestigious Thomas Young Medal and Prize by the Institute of Physics. The award specifically acknowledged his success in measuring quantum noise in light, a milestone achievement in the field.

The second longest Bitcoin miner capitulation on record just ended. 3 months of sustained losses, measured by the Puell Multiple holding below 0.5.
Miner capitulation ends when marginal miners shut off, difficulty adjusts down, and the survivors earn more per block. Network hashrate stabilizes. It looks like relief.
Here is what capitulation does not fix: the revenue structure.
Difficulty adjusting downward improves earnings per survivor temporarily. It does not change the halving schedule. In 22 months, block rewards drop from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC. Every miner who survived the last 3 months faces that cut on a date written into the protocol.
The capitulation data confirms the security budget pressure is operating on schedule. Miners are not shutting off because Bitcoin is weak. They are shutting off because revenue per unit of hashrate has been falling for three consecutive years as difficulty rose faster than miner income.
$NAT was not designed for miners having a bad quarter. It was designed for the structural reality that block rewards decline on a fixed schedule regardless of market conditions.
The 3-month capitulation just ended. The countdown to the next halving did not.

It has a security problem disguised as an energy debate.
The network doesn't use too much energy. It might not use enough.
