2. Inaction always results in a no, but action can bring you closer to a yes. Take baby steps even when you can't take leaps. Reseach that agent or editor, make a list of words that might be great in your book. 🧵

QUERY TIPS for #amquerying folks: I've had multiple agents & have learned a few things I hope will be helpful. 1. The query letter matters but your pages matter most. 🧵

4. *I'm counting down. Do nudge after around 3 months (for PB). Short & sweet--if emailed, write "follow up" in subject line of original query. Then pleasantly ask if they have any updates on xyz & thank you. Agents are swamped & short = kind! I've gone to acquisitions from follow ups!

1. Get the main point across while allowing the synopsis to shine. Your synopsis should be like a movie trailer for your book, not just a summary. Can the reader "taste" the tension & voice?

@MindyAlyseWeiss I'm so sorry. That is a horrible pain to endure.

My rescue dog has been by my side for the past 12+ years. I'm heartbroken that we need to say goodbye to her on Tuesday morning. We're spoiling her as much as possible. She deserves it! My younger daughter lives 4 hours away and came home to see her one last time.
