We should put a bunch of these in a row in the desert with hotels for folks who come just to predict and catch a show. Would be an awesome way to use cutting edge financial markets to do economic development in a sparsely populated part of America and reindustrialize.
Aggie@BlondiePredicts

Concept idea: @Kalshi pop up store Markets, merch, and live predictions. Walk in, place a trade, grab exclusive merch, watch the odds move in real time. NYC would eat this up

Met with a couple of OG LPs this week and one thing they all had in common was how they think about underwriting VCs. They underwrite a GP’s judgment, taste, and what one LP called a “shared mind.” Let me explain. Many fund managers think fundraising is mostly about having a unique thesis, differentiated portfolio construction, strong performance, a sector edge, etc. And sure, all of that matters and helps at the margin, but the core thing LPs are trying to figure out is much simpler: how does this person actually see the world and make decisions when there isn't enough information and nobody knows the answer? The reality is that LPs can't really underwrite venture performance with a high degree of confidence, bc the time horizon is too long, the sample size is too small, survivorship bias is everywhere, and outcomes are often driven by a handful of companies. Even when some LPs say they underwrite performance, one LP told me that's often just how people want to think about their decisions because it sounds more rational than what they're actually doing. What many allocators are really looking for is a manager whose perception of reality resonates with their own, someone who consistently sees things in a way that makes them think, "yeah, that's exactly how I would frame it," and then takes it one step further. In a way they're saying: if this person sees the world similarly to me, but is smarter than I am in this particular corner of the market, then I want to be where they're looking. Which is also why I think writing is one of the most underrated skills in VC. Whether it's X, Substack, blog posts, quarterly letters, or even random comments, writing creates a long trail of how you think, what you pay attention to, what you ignore, what your taste looks like, and how all of that evolves over time. By the time you have the first LP meeting, many allocators have already been underwriting your mind for months (or years).

On Saturday night, as Goose played the second of two shows at Madison Square Garden, a 51-year-old concertgoer named Paul Kueker suffered a fatal fall from the upper level. For the following night’s concert at Central Park SummerStage, the Connecticut rock band announced that proceeds would go toward a fund supporting their fan community. “Getting off stage to learn that news was devastating for us and our crew, and we cannot imagine how some of you left the show feeling,” they wrote. Goose’s Peter Anspach opened last night’s show with a moment of silence for Kueker and dedicated the performance to him. The band also released a t-shirt with proceeds benefiting his family’s GoFundMe.
