I see they aren't teaching government in schools any more. Electoral college and the breakdown of 2 senators per state and representative based on population was based on balancing power. Keeping states like New York and Virginia from controlling the nation at the detriment to the less populated ones. The system is as valid now as it was then.

the average US mortgage is $250,000 at 7% over 30 years. total repayment? $598,000. you borrow $250K and pay back $598K. $348,000 straight to the bank for nothing. then you pay to fix up the house. stuff breaks. you pay insurance monthly. property taxes every year. 3–6% in realtor fees when you sell. and we act like renting is throwing money away. there is a strong argument for renting.

there is no reason a full-time worker should need: a roommate parental help side hustles a cosigner just to afford a basic one-bedroom in the city they work in. at that point the economy is not “challenging.” it’s completely broken.

Or education system fails many. Maybe start with getting high back on track so everyone understands basic finance and that men can't be women. Example of the failure, Supreme Court Justice who claims she isn't a biologist so she doesn't know what a woman is. An Ivy League education ain't what it used to be.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but all education should be free. We should want an educated society. It benefits all of us.
