This is why I keep stressing that learning "small talk" is important. I got married that way.

There's no point bringing my own mat to the mosque if my face and palms are still gonna touch the bare, hot earth. So yeah, the mat will stay vertical.

@darkqubits @Ehmbee_ Ni matsalan I don't exactly see how it's taimako. It's more of going from win-win to lose-lose. 😂😂

@Lonnewulff Great example! Two of the most powerful habits for success: 1. Strong sense of urgency; do everything immediately 2. Master the art of asking for what you want

I am very serious on this. It will be a pleasure to be part of the Dangote legacy. I could have leveraged my “networks and connections” to send my CV to Capt, but I posted this publicly for 2 reasons. 1. To encourage others to not shy away from asking for what they want in the fear of failure or rejection. Be confident in yourself and push yourself towards achieving your goals and leave the rest to God. What is yours will never miss you, what is not yours will never hit you. 2. To emphasize that as much as this app is a leveler, we should never abuse the access it provides. Some people here have the means to change your life completely. Know your level and respect yourself. Don’t ever be a sycophant but also don’t package for your helper. Fingers crossed.

Dear @CaptJamyl, Congratulations on your recent appointment as Managing Director, Infrastructure & Logistics at the Dangote Group. As you settle into the role and build the team to deliver on your objectives, I would want the opportunity to be a part of that team. I am confident I can add value in supporting the scale and operational complexity of your portfolio. Over the past decade, my work has focused on the intersection of infrastructure, operations, and sustainability, specifically how large systems perform over time and how data can be leveraged to improve decision-making. I specialize in delivering resilient, efficient, and scalable infrastructure through structured, sustainable approaches that connect asset performance, maintenance strategies, and day-to-day operations into practical, results-driven frameworks. I am interested in any role where my experience aligns with your priorities. Here is a link to my CV for your reference. drive.google.com/file/d/1lf5MlH… Warm regards, Dakta Bello, D.Eng, PMP

@jarrhead15 I didn't know it was functional. But I just looked it up and it's just 10MW. That's like 1% of Kano's demand. Perhaps we'll see bigger gas plants when AKK is complete. But the real koko is transmission and distribution.

I read a very disturbing tweet in English, only to realize that it was Grok that did a bad translation from Hausa.

@markessien You’re a big fool! How many of those developments do you see in southern Kaduna? Didn’t he further marginalize the Christians? Took all University to Northern Kaduna only for Southern Kaduna Christians to be subjected to Muslim oppression and way of living just to be educated..?

@jarrhead15 PMB did the constitutional amendment in March 2023 and BAT signed the electricity act in June 2023.

@jarrhead15 To be fair, the law that allowed states to generate, transmit and distribute electricity was only passed in 2023. Before then, it was difficult for states to be independent of the national grid.

Lots to unpack. What started as a benign academic discuss has now metamorphosed into historical revisionism. We warned about this ‘disengagement’, not because it wasn’t worth looking into. What we feared above all was intent of the people engaging in it and the authenticity of the information they use to shape their opinions. I truly hope we come out of this, a better people. The situation on facebook, as expected, leaves one with nothing but hopelessness. May Allah SWT grant us peace in this part of the Sahel we call home. Amin.

My @daily_trust column this week was inspired by the Twitter Space engagement around Arewa’s ethnic identity politics a few days ago, as initiated by @NWali_X, along with @emtukur and @EL_KUT. Link: dailytrust.com/a-case-for-bil…

@DrJoeAbah If I had any spare $$, I'd have bought those old Kabo & Max Air 747s rotting away on the tarmac in Kano. I'd convert them into restaurants and co-working space.

I’ve always wondered why old planes are left to rot at airports. Why don’t let scrap metal dealers and pantakers break them up and reuse them?
