In the humid heat of the cave, the glowing soul mushrooms are reflected on the surface of High Lake… above you. The lake is inverted, like the ocean in the sky.

This isn’t your forest. The ground is rocky, as though the trees burst up through some giant slab of granite. You don’t recognize the birdsong, or the patches of darkness swimming through the undergrowth. You hear music from what you think is north, water to the south.

On the other hand, it's been more than three hours since my vote, and eventual consistency wouldn't be very helpful if it only happened hours after the votes are tallied.

@ForestOfWhales @ewidle @QuietPineTrees I wonder if it matches at some point. 🤔 "Eventual consistency" is a thing, often it's used because it can be considerably cheaper to implement. Though this all here seems rather ridiculous.

It’s pretty established by now that tie votes are biggest threat in the Forest. Bigger than the King of Coins, the Wicks, Aohn, or the Void River, partly because tie votes help make those things scary.
But what do you think of the twists we’ve gotten from our tie votes so far?

@QuietPineTrees You watch the sun finish rising from Ooavoo’s back. The snail dragon soars silently over the Runemoor until a town comes into view. It’s mostly small stone buildings, clutched at the base of a cliff.
Ooavoo lands on the outskirts. Nerii can’t help but laugh. She had too much fun.

@QuietPineTrees “NERII!” you shout over the rushing wind. “SPYGLASS!” She carefully reaches into her bag and hands you the telescope. Through the treetops, you examine Ooavoo nose to tail. Sure enough, something catches your eye. A yellow flame burns under the shell, just above the left wing.
