Brother and I put a new return elevator on a 70 series this AM. Took 2 hrs. Shockingly easy for a JD.

@Ryan90509722 Ohh that is widespread. If it gives you any piece of mind, they can't fly so maybe killing them once will clean your fields up idk. Agree residual would be better.

@deep_seeder We have never had them. It’s a huge outbreak 25 mile long 15 miles wide on most fields. No not recrop field.Just wondering about residual sprays in case neighbors decide to ignore them. Only place not found wheat seeded into canola residue.

Anyone have any suggestions what to do with these damn things. Had know idea, we had superhero bugs, out having orgies at 35 degrees and having a damn field day on the wheat.

@josh_sayler Bolted a new final drive from Deere on our 680 today. Ours was too far gone to fix. $7400 new.

I dk if we doing the right thing?? Going to rebuild the final drives. Nothing wrong with them, but with the 45ft bn heads and 45ft corn head, tracks and hopper extensions, I feel like the final drives "get a workout".....rather do in shop vs out in the field I guess....

@TrentLanie I've been very happy with Northern Tool 30 gal Honda.

Any suggestions on a good truck mounted air compressor? For blowing out radiators, airing up tractor tires, etc.

@ArtSchultheis I'll second that about Broadleaf control in legumes. Is the reason for the tillage to expose the dirt for the pre emerge herbicide to adhere to?

Second crop (regrowth) spring canola might out yield my first actual crop if it doesn't freeze down soon. 🙄. More rain in the last month than I had all spring and summer....

Anybody have any suggestions on how to keep my booms from trying to pass me going down hill? I’ve rebuilt the cylinders. Put high pressure relief valves in the block, put new valve cartridges in, and replaced the magnetic sensors. I’d take any ideas.

@badswoman Sorry to see. But yep, doesn't mean much til it's at the elevator. Fire, hail, tipped over grain carts, the list go's on, and new ways discovered every year.

This is a good reminder that almost in the bin doesn't count.

Wheat tested 19 percent at 5. Washington going to take some off this morning and put through dryer. Woke up to more fog and no sun. Another day of small jobs. List is getting short.

Had the best helpers for getting peas in the ground. On their birthdays nonetheless.

@deep_seeder @CasFarmerCD I put new tracks on it and hadn’t re charged them after the break in. They were down to 2300 when it happened

Thank God for friends who on Saturday night of a holiday weekend say “I got nothing going on tomorrow, let me come help you with that” Completely derailed a track on a 35% slope. Was a lot of work yesterday getting it back on. I could not have done it without great friends. ❤️

@dustfrmer @CasFarmerCD Cool hadn't heard of that. I do know, do not back up on a sidehill. Something about the way the track runs makes it prone to coming off.

@deep_seeder @CasFarmerCD Haha. Man I hope so. I’m kinda still on pins and needles on side hills. I ordered the Milwaukee high pressure hydraulic pump to get more than 3000psi of tension in them.
