But that's my point, winning a duel that leads to a goal doesn't disprove a philosophy. He didn't disprove Hugo because even if he scored, he'd have been below Loki, Hugo and Karasu in performances. Mind you, Rin ruins Isagi's goal, but technically if Isagi followed Hugo, he'd have scored.

I'm trying to tell you that Isagi winning in that specific moment means nothing when Hugo's philosophy led to - Him scoring - Him assisting twice - Him shutting down Isagi almost all game and not only that, but BL scored twice from Karasu's assist (Hugo's philosophy) In football, players outplay each other. To me, it's simply bad writing to say Isagi "won" the philosophy battle when he got himself at the end of a goal once. If you feel differently, either you don't watch football or you glaze Isagi/Blue Lock too much.

The "yapping" is what the story is built on btw. Debating the philosophies and applying them to football is the whole story, if you reduce it to "overexplaining" then I don't think this manga is for you

@default2_ace I think you're forgetting that knsr can't show every little pass and detail that happens in the match, he is there to cover the main points he wanted to address through this match aka hugo's philosophy and ego, karasu's mindset, the rift in the team, rin's fear of abandonment

Isagi centric is fine but you can definitely tell there's a lack of dynamics between the others. It's okay to have theory and yap sessions. The last yap session in the dressing room is cool af, Hugo's philosophy etc. Just think it's been overdone at times! and it leads to matches being too long and other matches losing attention and other chars too!

@default2_ace For the first point, the manga is indeed heavily mc centric and that has been established by the author saying he makes sure to make every characters has at least one arrow leading to isagi The second point is fair I would love to see other matches but it would defeat the point

@default2_ace The third point tho? I don't think france's match got rushed, it delivered all it could deliver actually, whether from writing to the debate between characters, I could confidently say that the france match was one of the best matches we had in the series

@2nsma @FriedShidou Even more the reason why not every play needs an explanation. Dynamics between chars outside of Isagi desperately need attention but never gets said attention. That's 1 example.

watching the real world cup is making me realize how boring blue lock is how have we not had a dramatic 1v1 penalty kick/psychological battle between striker & goalie or a desperate last second goal that was offside or a brutal defense that has them emotionally exhausted 😔
